So I'm on my way to Moncton on the 102 4 lane divided highway. Moving along at 115 in a 110 zone with the cruise on. This Pontiac G6 blows by me at probably 150. Traffic was light so he had no problem going past me. I figure this guys gonna get nailed. Sure enough over the next hill I see the RCMP driving on the overpass flip on his lights and go after the guy. So 2 minutes later I pass him pulled over obviously giving the guy a ticket. Guess that will slow the guy down right?

Not 15 minutes later outside Truro as I drop down to 100 for the 100 zone the SAME CAR passes me AGAIN going at least 20 over the limit.

Do these guys figure they can't get more than one ticket a day.

I know if I ever get pulled over (2 warnings in about the last 20 years) that for the rest of the day I'm making sure my cruise is right on the limit no higher.

Just blew my mind.

I'm with you.  If I get a ticket I slow down.  Though for me that means slowing down to 15 over the limit.

I once saw some one pulled over twice in a day.

few years back when Audi TT new one was really new, I was driving home to calgary from Banff and saw this TT flying by me.

10 minutes later, saw the guy pulled over by RCMP.

about half an hour later as I enter Calgary city limit, i saw the TT flying by me again, and 2-3 minutes later, he was pulled over by Calgary police.

it was funny.

On that highway, 120 seems to be the 'acceptable' speed.

I once kept up with traffic from the toll booth to Springhill, we averaged 135.

He would love to have me as a judge.

120 or under seems to keep you out of trouble (except outside Truro where the limit is 100..they love to camp near the speed change area and nail people who were comfortably 10 over who are now 20 over).

The funny thing is that I find that latley a large % go much closer to 110> They go 110 in the 100 and they stick around 110 in the 110. Sure some go faster but I'd say more than 50%. I try to set my cruise just under the 120 mark (my speedo is a little off accoriding to my GPS) so I am usually around 118. I pass a LOT of cars between Moncton and Dartmouth.

It appears that fines and demerit points are not a deterrent to these law breakers.  Some politicians will probably use them as poster boys for speed limiters in new cars.

No, the offenders will use lawyers, tie up the process in the system, and plead to 'lesser' with bigger fine. That is how the Ticket Cash Cow works after hours.

It's not always speeding that you need to worry about.  I think guy needed to learn about 'hands free'...
Trucker flips his rig after masturbating while driving

A Dutch trucker suspected of driving under the influence of drugs crashed his vehicle near Borås in western Sweden on Tuesday. He subsequently admitted to masturbating at the time of the accident.
The trucker, apparently unable to reach a satisfactory climax, then proceeded to continue to pleasure himself while in the midst of a police interrogation, according to the local Borås Tidning newspaper.
"He was masturbating while the police interrogated him," police prosecutor Åsa Askenbäck told the newspaper. "He has admitted that he was not paying full attention at the time of the accident. He was playing with himself instead of focusing on the road."
The truck driver was en route from Gothenburg to Borås at around 4am on Tuesday morning. The truck and trailer flipped over when he rammed his vehicle into the central division on route 40 south of Borås. The upturned vehicle blocked all traffic towards Gothenburg and one lane was closed in the direction of Borås. The man remained in the vehicle with his hands apparently still clasped around his own gear stick and was subsequently arrested for reckless driving and driving while under the influence of drugs.
The suspicions against the man have now been extended to sexual molestation. The Dutch trucker, who is in his thirties, has admitted all of the charges directed against him

Who cares if he went 150?  He safely passed you twice - it is his perogative.  If speeding laws were about safety I might care, but they are are about $.

I never made any comment about saftey did I? I never made any comment that even implied I agree with the speed limit.

My comment was that the ticket obviously did not act as a dterent against future incidents of exceeding the posted limit.

On a divided highway in good conditon, with good weather its pretty obvious that speeds in excess of 110 kph are safe (at least to me). If it weren;t for fear of the $ and points I can say I'd certainly be going much faster.
