Week 3 in the Outlander has begun.
More not to like; Tinny sounding doors when they shut and a range of ~500km/tank highway.
That Altima that I rented back in the Spring had a great range of ~800km/tank.

Are the tanks rough the same size
What I did not like about the Outlander was the centre console was to close to drive area
Thanks AB, you just reminded me of another dislike; The center console is to far back for resting my right elbow. The Malibu that I was driving this past Spring in FL had a nice sliding adjustable center console.

Your rental is a base model (ES). The V6 models (LS and XLS) have sliding armrests. On the flip side, note that even the base model has leather steering wheel and shift knob, which is a nice touch (I was surprised too when I saw this in the specs).
I have no experience with the 2.4L/CVT Outlander, but with mine (V6) I can get 500 km out of tank (60L) driving spirited at 130-140 km/h or 700 km driving smooth at 110-120 km/h (no head winds or long steep hills factored in).
You are right about the doors (and the door handles) sound. It takes a bit to get used to it. This is part of what I mean when I say that, while a very good car overall, it lacks attention to detail in its execution.
