Well it had to happen sometime. I had last week off, and used the time to do a motorcycle tour of the States. Went through Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, and Colorado.

The final day, just a few miles short of the border crossing, a deer jumps out at the last minute. Dodged him, but in the process the bike went sideways and (AFAIK, sideways is my last image) pitched me over it.

Just back from Havre hospital with a broken collarbone, a broken shoulderblade, and two broken ribs. Typing this very slowly with left hand.

get better soon please. Sounds nasty... did you get back into Canada before the US health system latched onto your wallet too severely.

I'm just about to head out into critter country for an afternoon ride: thanks for the sobering reminder of what can happen out there, and here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear of your bike mishap, Pjung, but glad you are still in one piece to report on it. Bikes can be replaced.

I have a fear of motorcycles, having heard a great many tales of woe about them over the years.

Typing this very slowly with left hand.

Sure hope you are left handed as learning to use your other for some functions can be rough.

Here is a quick (ya I know it won't be) recovery.

How is it possible that after electricity has traveled through hundreds of miles of power line then hundreds of feet (or yards) of romex in our home, that changing the last three feet of wire with something exotic, expensive (cool looking, and packaged in a pricey box) is going to make a difference?
