I own a 2009 Honda accord lx, I have about 5000km on it so far- from second day on my rear brakes began to squeal- Progressively it got worst.  It has been back to honda about 4 times so far- they have cleaned, replaced pads and rear routers- still the brakes squeals.  I have complained to honda- and nothing has happened so far.  Does anybody have the same trouble.
It has become so loud that people look when I brake- wondering if something is wrong.

I have a 2009 with about the same KM's and don't have that problem,

it could be ur piston or break pads need to be replace

Brand new car. Don't even think about. Go straight to the dealership.

The brakes on my 2009 Accord squeak very slightly when cold. When the warm up, they no longer do so. My 2008 Fit does exactly the same thing. It is due to the high metallic content of the pads and nothing to be concerned about.

When asbestos was banned for brake materials in the 1990s (while I was working at Chrysler) we had a rash of complaints from owners regarding brake squeaks and in all honesty, there isn't much to be done about it.

I found that the Honda Accord is known to have this issue with this current generation. Honda knows about it and as far as the last time I looked it up which was sometime in the fall of 2009 there are no fixes. I discovered this issue as I was looking for a problem with my rear disc brakes on the previous generation which also has an issue. The rear disc brakes goes as quickly as the front ones. Not sure if this affects all the previous Accords but some owners have said they have the same problem. Also 2 out of 3 dealerships I called in enquire about the problem have said that I'm not the first one of complaining why at 40K km I was down to nearly nothing on the rear pads.

Wonderful! I may have to change/maintain all four pads and rotors routinely!

I purchased a 2009 Honda Accord EXL in June and had brake problems within the first week of driving this car.  The squeak and squeals are painfully annoying especially from a new car bought off Honda's lot.  The very reason I bought new was to avoid this type of problem.  I have read several posts on American websites about this issue, one suggested that there is a fix out for this problem.  If you are a Canadian resident who has has this issue and had it resolved, please let me know.  I have been to the dealership 3 times - resulting in new front and rear pads and rotors but the issue continued.  My last visit was mid December.  The dealer claims this is a non issue and I am the exception.  The funny thing was that their courtesy car had the same issue.

    i think the problem may be the replacement of ROTORS with ROUTERS......d'ya get great INTERNET!!!!

Just got a letter from Honda "Cutomer Staisfaction Campaign: Rear Brakes" describes your problem and how to get it fixed for free or reimburse if you already paid, also extends warranty for this problem for 3 years...

They describe it as "the posibility that certain driving habits or conditions in Canada may cause premature rear brake pad wear"

My breaks haven't dispalyesd this problem yet
