I am very close to getting a 2009 Chevy Malibu through CarCostCanada. The dealership is Roy Foss Chevy. They currently have $3,500 rebate on the 1LT 4cyl. models. So with the wholesale price plus 3% dealer profit + freight, the price looks pretty decent to me. With $0 down and 0% over 60 months (financing), the monthly payment comes to about $410, all in. I am going for a test drive on Tuesday after work, any suggestions or words of wisdom while/before I'm there? Also, should I be charged 'Administration fee' when I'm purchasing a vehicle? I feel like I'm being lied to when the salesperson said it's 'mandatory'. Lastly, should I even consider buying a GM vehicle with the financial situation the company is in? I feel confident that GM will still be around, but I'd like to hear what others think. Thanks for your help ladies/gents.

The build+price shows that you either get 60@0% or the $3,500 so if you're getting both then jump on it. |

Oh yea....be sure to look into GMs new offer they have going. You can drive the car for 60 days. If you don't like it, you can return it. |

Very positive reviews about the car, drive it and see if its to your taste and/or you are comfortable being in the vehicle. Looks like a pretty good deal. GM doesn't look that precarious any more, tainted reputation is all there is to it. |

They caqn charge an admin fee if they want. Doersn't mean you have to pay it. In the alternative you can tell the dealer you have a mandatory "cost of travel" discount you charge on all your car purchases of $300. It covers the cost of your time and travel to go to the dealer . So after the admin fee is added they only owe you $100! Great deal for them.
Your CCC quote does not shown an admin fee does it? If not why would you pay it.
Your test drive will tell you if its a good deal or not. A lower price on a car you don't like isn't a deal at all. Good luck

GM doesn't look that precarious any more Let's see if that holds up during the midterm congressional elections when GM gets cut loose. That said, it is not a big factor because both the Canadian and US governments will honour GM warranties. |

Thanks for the advices.. it turns out that I can only have either the 0% financing OR the $3,500 rebate... I am waiting to hear back from the dealer on what he can do.. but I guess my search for a great deal continues |

If you are looking more for a deal than the exact car you want look around at Ford dealers for any leftover 09 Fusions. They have proven to be very reliable, Ford is "more stable" than GM, the vehicle is not quite as nice as the 2010 but still a very good midsized car. Prices on leftover 09s becuase of the redesign of the Fusion should be outstanding. |

I really like the 2010 Fusions, I'm not crazy about the 2009 models, but I am willing to go for it if the financing/lease rate and price is right.
Do you know what the finance/lease rate is for the 09 Fusion? Last I checked, they don't have lease available on their website and financing rate for 2010 for 60 months was 7.99%. That's too high! |

They had all that info on the website a couple months ago but now it appears they have only Focus and Mustang on as 2009 models. You'll need to go to a local dealer with leftover 09s. As I rember it was something crazy like 0% plus a few thousand off MSRp or ?family price plus delivery incentives. I think a fairly loaded 09 V6 was down around the $400 a month mark. |

09 Fusion SE $3500 + 7.99% 60 mos. 09 Fusion SEL $5500 + 7.99% 60 mos. 2010 Fusion (except S and hybrid) 0% 60 mos |

My wife didn't like the 09 Fusion, and I didn't look too much into 2010 Fusions because I thought the rates would be pretty high...
We decided and leased a Black 09 Altima with a Convenience Package tonight. Got a deal through Car Cost Canada.
