There's already a bit of a tire shortage going on in Southern BC. Wal-mart is already out of stock on many, if not all, their Nexen Winter Tires. if you're worried about travelling on the highway, get some cable chains instead from Craigs list and save yourself the tax by getting the tires in Alberta.
