97 Aerostar Oddball Tire ?
« on: September 05, 2009, 06:42:56 pm »
We just bought a '97 Aerostar XLT - which is a small RV conversion by GTRV.  The GVWF is 2465 lbs., and the GVWR is 2960 lbs.  The original size for this van is:  215/75R14SL (Hankooks of that size are on there now).  We need new tires, and it appears the only tires available in the original size are poor quality tires [from BF Goodrich (BF738), or Hankook (H714)].  Most people suggest going to a 225/70R14 would work.  But I have my concerns as it does shrink the diameter about 7.5mm (by my calculation.......The van already seems to ride low, and what about transmission shift speeds and speedo error....should this be a concern?...Thanks in advance....bill.

Hercules G5000Z may fit although there is some discussion about what pressure to use  :run:
Chris Matthews, CNBC: "You know, I forgot he was black tonight for an hour"
Jon Stewart: "This guy is one scotch away from being Ron Burgundy"
