I think the fender flares have been a bit over done on this vehicle, but otherwise it looks decent enough.

The fender flares are incredibly reminiscent of those on the Jeep Compas...blech.   Thankfully they were less noticable in the darker colours, IMO.

Sat in the Terrain, and it's a great size.   While asthetically nice inside, the quality and tactile feel of the switchgear felt decidely low rent.

Back seat ingress/egress was fantastic, and the door has 2 seals that should keep grime off the sills where ones pants drag when getting in.   Also, the back seat has 8 inches of fore/aft travel which adds a nice degree of versatility.

I'd consider it if I were in the market for this segment type.   It certainly should be good for GM and a nice bonus is that it's made in Ingersoll ON.

Looks like a very competitive vehicle for its segment. Seems like it is sized right, direct injection I4 and V6 offerings. Nicely designed interior and distinctive exterior.

The Equinox is a nice looking car but the Terrain has a face that only a mother could love, in my opinion anyway. Not worth the extra $1500 over the Chevy.
Funny, I was thinking just the opposite.  Never been a big fan of the chevy split grill design.  I think the fender flares have been a bit over done on this vehicle, but otherwise it looks decent enough.

I think the above two comments are a good thing for GM. There is enough of a difference in the Terrain vs the Equinox that different vehicles are appealing to different people. In order to have 2 brands in Chevrolet and GMC they must be distinctive.

I kinda prefer the Equinox styling over the Terrain but I bet many will prefer the opposite.

IMO, this is one of the most unatractive ugly vehicles on the road today.....in fact, I had a very similar reaction when the Pontiac Aztec was "skulking around" a few years back.  Made me say "Oh..my...god...what was GMC thinking???"  Then, I answered myself and said...."obviously they were NOT thinking!"  I don't know who designed this thing...but I can guarantee you it will not be around in a couple of years....I'll give credit to the new Chevy Equinox which is "head and shoulders" above the Terrain in the looks department...again, IMO.

Despite the blocky fenders and Rendezvous/Sienna-inspired rear, the stupid thing is starting to grow on me  Hide  Scary.

At least it is dissimilar to an Equinox!

If GM were to trim the duplicity that exists and produce only one - I'd vote for the Equinox. Not because I like it better than the Terrain, but because I think more people would go for the style of it.

Review: 2010 GMC Terrain - a tale of two engines
Quote
Our tester also had all-wheel drive. Surprisingly, we dig the four-banger. Despite giving up 82 horses to the optional V6 (we'll get to that in a moment), it's the better engine.
