US website has pricing and build availability but nothing is mentioned at all on the GM Canada site that I can find.

Is it coming to Canada?   I thought so but.....Anybody seen them here?

You're not looking hard enough. http://www.gm.ca/gm/english/vehicles-2010/gmc/terrain/feature01?adv=86191

It's linked off the front page of the GMC sub site. No pricing yet but it's definitely going to be here

Saw one westbound on the 401 near Oshawa on Sunday 9 August when I was heading to downtown Toronto with my family.  I'd never seen one (nor heard of one) before.  It had some kind of special license plates on it.  I liked its front-end design and it seemed to have a nice stance on the road, all hunkered down with the tires & wheels filling the wheel wells nicely...something that GM used to do badly.  It was an electric blue colour.  Nice.

Thanks for that link KRS. Did check it out and was going to go and take a look to see if I could find one around here.Guess what - we have no GMC dealers left in good old Scarborough.

City Buick - I imagine the Poncho name is gone, is not in Scarborough technically, but they would be the closest I guess. Trillium has taken down their signs and is now Trillium Motors. Didn't go to Marvin Starr because they too are closing.

Interesting to note that the Acura Dealer beside Marvin Starr (Acura East?) has gone altogether. Maybe the land for both has been sold for housing.

GM Canada still has not established a build and price yet. Maybe there is an official roll out date for Canada? Anyone heard anything?

For that mtter who would be selling them in Canada - has that been decided?

I love my Acadia, but dog gone it, this Terrain is what I call right sized - for me. I seldom use the rear seat anyway and the Terrain with a curb weight of 4100 pounds, it's going to get much better mpg numbers.

I'd go for the AWD with a six please. I know, it's still an SUV- yada yada, but I like my Acadia and could be swayed to stay with them, GM that is. And yes Barrie has approved this post. Grin

The Terrain is arriving at GMC dealers now and pricing is available. The V6 is about $2,000 more on selected trims.

Yeah, but - who is going to sell them? Chevy dealers or the old whoever is left Buick dealers?

It's badged a GMC so GMC dealers are going to sell them. If you've found the Pontiac-Buick-GMC dealers in your area are closing, I would imagine you'll likely see the local Chevrolet or Chevrolet/Cadillac dealer picking up the Buick-GMC franchise at some point going forward. The plan as I've understood it is to steamline with fewer dealers in total, but the majority of those who remain would be 'all line'.

Hmmmm...it said differently in our Thurs. newspaper.  It said some would be all line, but others would be just GMC, some Cadillac/Buick, etc..  Some of the dealers interviewed seemed a bit confused as well...

I couldn't find the little bit online where they interviewed local dealers, but I did find this..see paragraph 5.

http://www.windsorstar.com/business/plays+hardball+with+dealers/1949330/story.html

"There'll be stand-alone Chevrolet dealers in Canada and there'll be Buick-GMC standalone dealers, as well as those selling Chevrolet, Buick and GM and Cadillac," the source said. "I can't tell you who's getting what yet, but that will be public knowledge this week."

The model shown in that link provided by KRS looks pleasing enough to the eye.

The commercial itself however, is not.  It seems to been inspired by Transformers, Terminator and even, gasp, Thunderbird.  I say, give the "T"s a rest and tone it down a bit.

The Equinox is a nice looking car but the Terrain has a face that only a mother could love, in my opinion anyway. Not worth the extra $1500 over the Chevy.

Funny, I was thinking just the opposite.  Never been a big fan of the chevy split grill design.  I think the fender flares have been a bit over done on this vehicle, but otherwise it looks decent enough.

If I were to choose between the two, I'd go Terrain.  I'm not big on the Chevy grille.
