^^Forget it.  He's trying to gouge you.  UNLESS your car is sluggish.  I would like him to define "needs".  I find it VERY hard to believe your injectors need cleaning after only 40,000kms.

Go buy a quality injector cleaner you put in your tank of gas and you'll get nearly the same results.

It can be good for some vehicles with a track record for clogged injectors and high mileage. That having been said if you run a good fuel injector cleaner through your car every month or so religiously then you will never need one. The ECOTEC does not have a history of injector issues, and good fuel injector cleaner every so often will keep things in good running order.

It is pure snake oil. I should know since I sold tons it. The service writer will get a cash kickback for every one he sells from the company who makes said snake oil. In the business it is called a "spiff" and is usually $7.00 for a fuel injection flush. Tranny flushes run $12 and coolant $5. Spiffs are paid in cash and a good advisor can pocket $300 a month on them in a month.

Injectors rarely if ever give any trouble before the 8 year, 140,000 km emission warranty is up and even then it is rare. Kind of like ABS stuff: any part can last the life of the car if the manufacturer wants it to or for safety, emissions and liability it has to.

What brands of fuel injector cleaner does everyone else use? Besides premium fuel which I know others have said in others posts. lol. I  normally use STP. I've also used Canadian Tire Brand.  Can't say either have really worked that well for me.  I'm actually thinking of getting a them cleaned out at one of the quick lube places.   In low gear my car has become very sluggish.  Feels like a tank with a lawn mower engine!

Is it an automatic? Perhaps your tranny is having problems and not getting into low gear, it would feel sluggish.
Perhaps a clogging/waterlogged fuel filter could also be the culprit. Lots of possible reasons, injectors would be further down my list.
If your injectors were bad enough to cause loss of power I'd suspect you'd see an engine code pop up.

If the Check Engine light isn't on and there are no car troubles fuel injection cleaning is unnecessary, especially for a car with less than 75,000 kilometers. It is definitely not a routine maintenance item. A ripoff brigade favorite, don't waste your money on it without good reason.

Top Tier gasolines, marketed by Esso and Shell, contain a superior additive package including a competent fuel injector cleaner and are well worth seeking out.

I've had a few cars that needed fuel injector service, but not until REALLY high mileages.  Like 350K or way more.
No place I'd rather be...

The dealer mentioned I needed one which costs around $90.

Even if you needed one which I highly doubt at your mileage, I doubt he'd have the equipment to do it and then verify the pattern and flow.

Ask to see his lab.  :rofl2:

You're being gamed. You don't need a fuel injector flush, you need an honest independent repair garage.
