no pics cause I'm not at home. Like most - the stable of bikes mutates constantly. Current rides are - beater 10-speed from 30 years ago turned into a fixed gear with front brake only. Its the bike that gets used to go to the video store or visit the university. Highly unlikely to get stolen. - Surly 1x1 Rat Ride - first year they made the bike. Its used in winter with studded tires and ultra-nice white industries cog (given the age ofthe bike - probably worth more than the bike). - Urbanite touring bike (from the Urbane bike shop in Toronto). Gets used for general road-rides and such. Haven't done any actual touring with the bike. - Inbred 29er. The do-it-all bike used for commuting, off-road, you-name-it. No suspension but the carbon fork and huge tires make up for it. Currently in 1x9 configuration from last years visit to Whistler but also goes as SS - Jamis Dakota with wonder Atom Bomb front fork. But, currently in pieces as I stripped parts to fix a broken crank on the Surly and give gears to the Inbred. ron

Here are my 2 bikes, a 2007 Specialized Tarmac pro for the road, full carbon, Dura Ace shifters and derailleurs, Ksyrium wheels. Very comfortable, a tad under 17 lbs with pedals. The mountain bike is brand new, 2009 Giant Trance X2, replacing a 2000 Gary Fisher Sugar 1. 27.2 lbs, XT shifters and derailleurs, Fox suspensions, Hayes disc brakes. The suspension is so good.. No bobbing from the rear. Very comfortable, stable and efficient. Killer price too, Giant is already known for great value but when you add a 25% discount, I got that bike for half the price of Specialized or Rocky Mountains with similar specs. And I think the Maestro 5 reaer suspension is superior as it does not need lock out of any kind. |

Awesome bikes. Gotta love that Giant. Too bad they are so expensive here... Hayes disc brakes rock. Have a pair of Stroker Trail on my bike. Last saturday I replaced the stem and the handlebar on my bike, the former handlebar was a tad short for me. |

Bought the wife an Electra Townie Balloon recently. 3 speed nexus hud and roller brakes. Fun bike to cruise on and very comfy.

Here's my custom commuter. Titanium cyclocross frame, steel fork (to replace the titanium one that sheared right off in April), custom-built wheels with singlespeed coaster brake rear hub and a wire basket. |

I saw a number of those in Toronto a couple of weeks ago when I was there for work. They look retro but timeless. Like a seafoam green electric guitar. |

At Indy, we saw a bunch of people riding these low-rider, very ornate bicycles. Does anyone here know what I'm talking about? |

Yup. Can't say it's my cup of tea, but they are ornate. |

Very nice bikes I really like Specialized bikes, they are usually just gorgeous bikes to behold. I used to have a 2007 Enduro SL and loved it. I hear the X2 is a very good ride, too. |

I used to have the same kind of folding basket in my rear rack. Are your rims reflective? |
