Let's hope that Chevrolet Camaro follows the record of it predecessors. In 5 years time will be sitting on dealer lot for under 15-10K fingers crossed.

The Interior looks odd. Looks like something missing or one of those European cheap compacts. It looks a bit plane. I think it is the center stack is whats is making the design look non cohesive. It really looks like a Alfa Mito dash.  Wink

An EcoBoost V6 would be a fantastic engine for the base Mustang. Not sure if it would be cheap enough, but if it boosted stock HP to 300 I think Ford could up the MSRP a little.

I don't see that happening...at least as a lesser option to the current V8.  A few cheap tweaks to that turbocharged engine would have power approaching 400HP...MUCH more than the V8 offering.

AFAIK, new Mustang base engine will be normally aspirated 3.7L.

I'd get a ZR-1...but the interior sucks.

Even our esteemed Canadian Driver reviewer seems to hold the opinion that the Camaro interior is hideous. Poor GM (tm), just never seems to get things quite right. The 370Z, however, is droolicious in this price range. Fast, powerful, lightweight, great interior.

Well, Honda Owner, you and many of your friends really need to do just that, go out and buy one. That is what the 370Z needs more than anything. But in my experience 370Z fanbois do a lot of fanboi-ing and not enough buying and therein lies the problem.

Only 300 350/370Zs sold this year according to SAM's latest info.

So what does that mean?  That the car is exclusive?

How many RX-8 sold this year?

It means absolutely nothing...just like HO's same post on the Camaro.

Frankly, I don't either. EcoBoost would be too expensive and Ford would probably take a lot of heat over putting a turbo engine in a pony car, whether it made power or not. But it would be sweet...  Drool

In a perfect world, I'd love to see an NA V6, EcoBoost V6, NA V8, and EcoBoost V8 (the last one replacing the current GT500). But I'm not holding my breath for that lineup...

On the plus side, the 1000km trip planned for this thing should give it the opportunity to post up some really good mileage figures.

9.0L/100km...that's what I get with my Jetta with 80% highway and rural, 20% city driving  Shocked  Impressive showing, way better than I expected its real-world numbers to be.

26mpg is pretty good, but I actually thought it might do better - particularly given the tall overdrive gearing.

8.5 would have been interesting   but 9 is 31mpg (Imperial)  which is pretty good for 3.6 litres.   My 3.0 litre BMW had trouble doing that.

The Wingman seemed to comment on the sharp steering.

A MotorTrendy test of the Camaro vs. the Genesis V6 seemed to indicate it wasn't as good.  I wonder it compares to the Mustang steering?

I'll have to ask James as I can't freak'n seem to find a Camaro to drive...but I can order one now and get it late fall.

That's about where I was looking as well.  9.0 isn't horrible for a vehicle this big and powerful, though.

Rough crowd around these parts!   Anyway, the fact that it runs on regular instead of premium is worth a few percent, no?  Regardless, I'd say it's somewhere in the "very good to excellent" range for a 300 horsepower RWD car, not the "guzzler" range, and that's a good thing.

Along with the fuel economy, the biggest surprise about day 3 for me was the seats.  With an apparently-nasty dashboard, I would have expected flimsy, uncomfortable seats as part of the package, but Wing apparently liked 'em after nine hours, which is no small compliment.

As for tire noise on the highway, I wonder if it would have been noticeable if the tester didn't come with twenty-frickin-inch Dubs Wink

I don't know about rough - I don't see anyone bashing the fuel consumption. But 26mpg for a contemporary V6 loafing along at under 2000 rpm on the highway doesn't have me reaching for a bunch of exclamation marks.  Maybe it has to do with differing expectations of "V6 fuel economy".  "Okay to good" would be my description.  29 would have been "excellent".  But thankfully, we don't have to rely on anyone's subjective labels to describe the fuel economy - we have an actual number returned by an actual car on an actual hghway.  It is what it is.

As for the road noise - I am impressed that it wasn't worse than described given the 20" rubber.

The look has grown on me - I liked it well enough when I first saw it and like it even better now.  But it sure does look every bit as big as it is - particularly in the width department.  I'd love to see what a 7/8ths version would look like.
