2010 Chevrolet Camaro LT V6

2010 Chevrolet Camaro LT V6General Motors is not counting on V8s to drive the success of the new Camaro, says Managing Editor, Grant Yoxon.  Camaros equipped with a new fuel-efficient 3.6-litre V6 engine are expected to account for about two thirds of Camaro sales.

Energuide rates the Camaro, equipped with this engine and a manual transmission at 6.8 litres per 100 kilometres in highway driving, making it the most fuel efficient manual-equipped highway runner sold in Canada.

Huh?  ???

The fuel economy actually sounds quite reasonable for a heavy, 300hp machine.  And it takes regular fuel, unlike some other 300hp sport coupes...

I like the price point, too.  The base model + RS package sounds like quite the steal...  :)

I saw a Camaro on the road for the first time Saturday.  It was yellowish, orange colour.  I couldn't tell whether it was V6, or V8.  pretty quiet.  I was going "Wow a NEW Camaro.  " then a black Ferrari 430 drove by going "brrrap", and I went  "DAMN! a ferrari. "  and forgot all about Camaro...

Please hurry up and get these things in rental rotation. I'll never buy one but if V6 ones are cheap and rental car companies start renting them I'd rather drive a 300HP V6 camaro than the POS 08 Mazda 6 Avis gave me last week.

If I were a Camaro buyer I'd be with Demo. Base + RS    in Red please.     However can someone else pay for the 18" snow tires for me.... and I still do not like the secondary gauge placement out of the line of sight.

It gets 10L/100km and is quiet inside.. I see. That would be useful for minivan shoppers. What about handling, cornering, engine sound, whether it felt a proper muscle car going by its road manners, anything on that after a 5! hour drive?  ???

Well, I'm not sure if it was a Tuesday or not, but I have been.  :D  Amazing the variety of cars there.  Sadly, when I was there I was not quite as obsessed with autos as I am now, and don't remember specifics, other than there were plenty of Lambos, Ferraris, and many I couldn't identify.

The Camaro's exterior is growing on me.  I saw a Challenger today, and I've yet to see a Camaro in the flesh, but I'm starting to shift to the Camaro camp.  If I were a buyer the Chev would win hands down: better interior, better powertrain options, better pricing, and of course, GM is in better shape than Chrysler still.  The Camaro is quite the bargain - here's hoping there's still a place for these cars with increasing fuel prices.  Maybe a turbo-four version will happen one day?

Dont hold your breath regarding a Camaro as a rental. GM is pulling back on a lot of the Rental sales because of the devistation it has on the resale value of thier lines. Nothing causes a model to depreciate as much as rental car companies flooding the market with hundreds of 1 year old vehicles.

Right now you will notice rental companies holding on to thier vehicle much longer because they are so hard to find.

Anyway if anyone is interested in finding a Camaro we have a 2LT model Black-On-Black leather 6 speed trans and RS package on its way to us unsold.

Cheers,
