People doing the work of strikers = scab labour.  That doesn't change just because it's a kids' sports league and the parents would be doing the work for free.  It still undermines the strikers and unions' job is to discourage and prevent that as much as possible.

It constantly irks me how people let emotional arguments (i.e. kids are involved) cloud their logic.  ::)

Sound logic does not always make something right.  You can make a logically sound case that euthanizing anyone with genetic diseases is good for society, but that would not make such action "right".

In this case, it's the kids that suffer.  That's not "right", even if it is "logical".

Depends whether you follow this modern idea that every human life is infinitely precious or not.  I don't think human lives are worth a lot... if they were then we probably wouldn't send young men off to war for no good reason.  That's young men like you Demo.

I, for myself only, can imagine many, many not unlikely cases where I'd like to be put down.    I also have a mental list of humans that I think should be put down....including some of those who send young men ( and women) off to fight stupid wars for stupid reasons.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
