Another big jump to over 91 cents US today. If this keeps up as forecast we may be back to the original plan for the Maxima replacement in September. Grin

If we do see parity (or something close to it) in the coming months do you think the floodgates will open again?

I don't need parity or anything even close to it to continue buying my car and motorcycle parts and accessories in the US.

Back when it was 1.57, I still saved $125 on a small dollar order from the US.

On another US$1099 order for OEM Honda car parts when the dollar was a bit better than 1:1, I saved enough to pay for my return airline ticket to Europe.

I'm about to place another order for one item...up here, $524; down there, $299.

Why would I shop here? Huh

What you won't find in my car is a coffee, cigarette and a cell phone. What you will find is a driver; imagine that, a driver in a vehicle. What an effing concept!

Well...here's one for you.  I did some cross-border shopping today!

It was time to retire my 5+ year old Serengeti Driver sunglasses.  I wanted the new Verona frames with the Driver Polarized lenses.  Since Import Queen was with me, she found a pair she really like...the Ronan tortoise frame with Driver's lenses.  Cost??

Verona $315 CDN
Ronan  $179

plus taxes, of course...so approx $550

I found a few cheaper prices in Canada..but was shocked at the prices in the USA.

Verona $129 (USD)
Ronan  $ 75
2 day express shipping  $32  (USD)
Duties and taxes          $31 (CDN)

Total (in CDN funds)  $  290 CDN

Well....my glasses arrived today..and they are GREAT!!  Will put them to good use at this weekend's MotoGP race.

Have fun at the race.
I ordered some Carbotech brake pads from the US. Also ordered some crazy zinc plated slotted and drilled rotors for less than the costs of generics in Canada.

US dollar down to just over 1.03 CAD this morning. The winter tire and wheel package for the Mini looks to be about $700 cheaper from Tirerack vs the Mini dealer at these levels! Roll Eyes

The average Canuck has way more buying power than the average American, which translates to lower prices in the USA. I have been buying wheels and tires in Bellingham for years and usually fly from there for our regular sojourns.
