2010 Porsche 911 GT3A "significantly upgraded version of the 2008 GT3," the $138,100 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 will arrive in Canada in July, reports contributor Peter Bleakney.  "I have never driven a 911 that bites and digs in like this one," he says.

But just look at the colour.  I know the GT3 is off the wall and all, but that's just awful...  Hurl

How much is a ZR-1?  I doubt Chevrolet would paint such an incredible car such a horrid colour.  Remember the -brown that Porsche painted a whole bunch of their 911's in the mid 70s?  This is much, much worse.

Or that puke colour yellowish green that BMW painted on M3s.

If somebody was giving me this car I could care less what colour it was. If it was my money, I wouldn't pick it.

Otherwise.... Drool

While color is clearly a personal preferance thing, most of the upper end German makers (Porsche, BMW, Audi, etc) all have some colors available that are unique and dramatic. Check out an Imola Red or LeMans Blue and/or Laguna Seca Blue BMW and you will see some more bright colors.

I don't think that the pictures in the article do justice to the Riviera Blue colour, it looks much better in real life. I think it's great in the same way the Kawasaki green is so cool - because it's not pretty for pretty boys and girls.

So here we have the most pure, badass track monster 911 that Porsche makes and we're discussing whether or not the blue paint matches our handbags.

It does look much better from this angle:

But it still strikes me as a bit much.  I'd take a bright colour on a Lamborghini, because they're showy, "look at me" cars.  But I've always associated Porsche more with Aston Martin than Lambo in how they look - classy, not loud.

*shrug*

But to each their own.  I certainly wouldn't deride someone's choice to buy a bright blue GT3.  Cheesy

You don't recall that flat brown that lasted until about 1976?  Not the "champagne" or whatever, but a from-the-factory dull flat brown?  Ugh.

The ZR-1 is supposed to be about 125k Cdn.  Would be a tough choice if I had the money...

I hate these Porsche's. Every single bloody design is the same same same old boring design. If ever meet the head of Porsche. I would give him a hard slap and I would asked him why is Porsche so lazy. We need new Porsche designs this century. Not this really boring design over and over again. Just with added new engineering bits. Wake up Porsche. Stop it with the same old crap over and over again...... Roll Eyes
