Lamest motorcycle name ever?

None of us like alphanumeric naming ("Hurricane" is ten thousand times cooler than "CBR600"), but sometimes, a bad name is worse than a bad alphanumeric.  What's the worst you've ever heard?
"Geography has made us neighbors. History has made us friends. Economics has made us partners. And necessity has made us allies. Those whom nature hath so joined together, let no man put asunder. What unites us is far greater than what divides us." -- John F. Kennedy, addressing Canadian Parliament.

Honda "Cub" was pretty weak, IMO.....LOL.  Though they were (and still are) used by race teams as a very cool pit-bike.

Suzuki also had the "Tempter" that wasn't terribly tempting.  And if you liked the Cub, Honda had the "Super Cub" and the "Dream" too.  And you'd think Yamaha's "Spectre" would be cooler than it really was.  Lotsa old dirtbikes had weird names too!  "Hustler", "Wombat", "Titan", "Trident", "Qualifier", "Elsinore"., "Sherpa", "Matador".  Suzuki's "Hayabusa" is only cool if you know what a 'Busa is.

I could go on and on....there are so many odd names....
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

"Elephant" was a pretty bad one too.  So was "DR BIG."

I always liked Combat Wombat.
Then there's the "Water Buffalo", but I don't think that was the official name.
... and what was with that "Elsinore" Honda stuff from years back. ???
I thought the Spectre was a '80s Kawi styling scheme on the KZ?

I always thought the Honda Ascot was kind of a silly name. Why would anybody name a motorcycle after a poncy scarf?

Then I Googled it, and it seems the Ascot was named after an American dirt racetrack.

Which brings us to the Elsinore: there's a Lake Elsinore in California that's also home to a pretty well known motocross track. Not sure how long the track has been there, but I bet it was in existence back in the '70s and that's where Honda got the bike name from.

Hmm, I wonder... any other Hondas named after famous race tracks?

Sometimes things get a little odd in translation.  Would you buy a "Konker KSM 200?"

I have to disagree with a few suggestions.

(1)  What's wrong with Volusia?  It's a county on Florida's coast.  Good cruiser territory.

(2)  And I think Elefant is a good name for a bigger dual-sport machine.

(3)  As for the Honda Cub and Super Cub, it'd be a dumb name for a supersport machine, but for a little scooter?  It fits nicely.

(4)  As for the Kawasaki Super Sherpa, my brother has one, and the name fits. Small and unimpressive at first glance, it's one heck of a scrapper on rough little trails.

(5)  And as for the Hayabusa, if it's only cool if you know what it means, it's still cool ;)

Ninja was the first thing that came to mind.

Mind you, one of the most thrilling bikes I've ridden was a Ninja ZX-10R.   I never thought that I'd ride a bike that pulled harder than the GSX-R 1000, but this one did.  Not much front wheel contact till things settle down a little north of 200kph.
Internal combustion thrust I trust

That's true.  "Ninja" is as 1980s-dorky as a mullet.  The ZX-_Rs would be cooler without "NINJA" plastered on their bodywork.

The Hayabusa may have had an odd name (but with a good meaning) but it carries a big performance stick.  Not a lightweight bike like the gixxer, it has a longer wheelbase for superb high speed stability and room for a real human.  Before I punched out the engine, it was shockingly fast, and afterwards, 300km/h was mere seconds away.  The speedo needle moves faster than the tach on most bikes.  There are some guys out there with 350hp on tap, and the engine can take it.  I can't imagine riding a 550lb bike with 350RWHP.

I agree that the Ninja name has not aged well.

If I grew out a mullet I could fit right in, I have a 1985 Ninja 900R hiding in the garage. The rest of the world refers to them as the GPZ900R, but North Americans love their Ninjas.

That's the Top Gun bike, right?  Awesome!  You got Kelly McGillis hidden away somewhere too? ;)

I point out the bike every time Top Gun is on TV, mine is exactly the same. Fantastic bike for the time, still fast enough to scare me.  I do wish it didn't say Ninja on it though. I'll go check on Kelly, got her tied up in the garage.  Did you ever wonder whatever happened to her?

Actually, she was never in anyone's garage, but in the closet.  She no longer has stunning hair (odd that she has a mangy hairdo now) and has finally confirmed she is gay.

...which explains why she had such great chemistry with Tom Cruise.
