Gotta love it!  The season hasn't even started and already there's a row in F1 over diffuser technology.  The three teams that use the disputed diffusers are not coincidentally in the top 3 after 2 practice sessions in Melbourne.  How will it all shake out?  What, ultimately, will be the pecking order (important to us chickens!) at the beginning of the race?  Will the other teams adjust to the new technology?  So many questions, so little time! But we'll have some answers in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

Dust off the couch.  Quaff a few suds and watch the action.

Wake me when it's over. I'm not losing any sleep over an organization that sees no merit in being in North America. Out of sight - out of mind.

Missed it.

Think I will give most races in this F1 season a miss as well.

That would exclude a lot of sporting events would it not?

The men see no merit in playing the Rogers cup in Toronto, and even then it's not even a grand slam event.  Screw tennis.  ;)

Not too bad for two guys that thought that they'd seen their last F1 race at season's end last year!

I've watched all the practices and qualifying...mostly because there was no other motorsport on a 1:30 AM.  It's still mostly boring.  You have to be a real F1 "nerd" to enjoy it.  Even the commentators live in their own little vacuum.  They were jumping up and down and hollering and cheering when Button set the fast time.  Certainly it was interesting to see the Brawn cars 1-2....but not as interesting as they made it out to be.  Reminded me of the hill-billies in the booth for the NASCAR shows.

And you can tell how out of touch these guys are with what many fans want with the sport when Peter Windsor said "I don't see why they changed it (the rules), there was plenty of overtaking already."  Is he kidding?  How can you say there's plenty of overtaking in F1?  For him to say that....I just couldn't believe it.

As I do every year, I'll give F1 a chance...but I still don't think there will be much "racing"....
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

Every year starts with such promise, gets boring in the middle then ends with some type of drama.  It's almost scripted.  I don't/can't identify with the drivers, since they live in some kind of cloud layer that I will never reach but.....the technology!    I dunno.  This year looks like it might be something special.  A sea change if you will.  The underdog story has a certain charm to it.

Awesome to see Brawn on the front row.  Debating whether to stay up and watch it or not.  Too ill really, but if I don't I will find out the result before I get to see it, doh!

Ah, one of those rare races where we on the west coast don't have to get up in the middle of the night to watch.  But, so far F1 suddenly seems strangely unfamiliar this year.  I think they could lose a lot of marginal fans this season, without any reason to gain new viewers.

Ok, to make it more interesting the starting grid for subsequent races should be the inverse of the finishing positions from their last race. That means if you win a race you have to start at the back for the next race. Should make for more passing rather than the F1 parade we are used to. ;)

I'm not referring to events that have never been played in North America, only those that were here and left because they couldn't get the money they so stupidly felt they should charge - F1.

I'm all in favour of cutting off their revenue stream from us too - no television money, no sponsors etc. until they wake up and understand the value our our (sinking :'() dollar and come crawling back.

NO.  I want to watch F1.   As far as I am concerned it is not a NA series and never really has been.
Indy cars, Nascar are NA series.

Brawn 1, 2... unbelievable.

Did I say that already?  Damn what a race!  Heart breaking for Kubica and Vettel even though it was their mistake.

--

I'm glad Montreal said no to F1.  They wanted more money, and we told them to go F-off.  Anyway, I'm more upset about the black out on SPEED.

Lot of overtaking.  Who woulda thunk it?  That Kubica<-->Vettel off was unfortunate but it sure is nice to see Rubens Barrichello on the podium again.  He's a really classy act.
