While $49000 is for the base 160 mile model and after 7500 credit, I predict with such a price drop in comparison to the Roadster, it will face a strong demand, esp. in CA. They should pull their *&$&^ together and bring it to the market sooner or else deal with Nissan's Leaf and a few Chinese companies, claiming to flood NA with affordable electrics.
Any word on Tesla still planning on using laptop cells for the S or maybe something larger this time?

I believe Tesla use Sanyo battery, who are owned by Panasonic who is owned by Toyota mmmm
