I'll be switching over sometime this week.
I used Squishy's logic of waiting until the forecast was for a week of +7 daytime highs and consequently changed over to my summer tires this weekend.  (Crosses fingers)

Winter tires are finally off.

Hopefully it won't snow again.

Did mine last weekend, looks like I need to do the pads soon too.  :(

Changed mine a couple of weeks ago. Lady Osis had the car in for service, they rotated the tires...guess I have to run that play again. :banghead:

One weird thing about the Outback, the manual recommends rotating the tires in the traditional (bias ply) X fashion, instead of the now common front to back, same side only.

I was under the impression that the front-to-back, same-side rotation was just to keep the easily confused garage employees from messing up directional tires.  I do rear-to-front straight, front-to-rear crossed.

I agree. On my non-directional tires I go from back to front same side and cross the fronts to the back.

With my directional tires it is obvious. Front to back same side only.

Well its more than a month since the origional past and my Summers are finally on. Brand new General UHPS have been sitting on the rims since mid march waiting to get out. I couldn't bear the thought for driving over 1000km this week on the snows. So Saturday I pull off the front wheel. Put the winters right back on. Crappy lug nuts I used for the wionters when the oems went "missing" (someone moved my stuff :-() had chewed up the wheel studs.

They were varying degrees of bad all around. So I bit the bullet. Had them all replaced (the car is 11 years old ) , had alignment done and bought a few new tuner lugs to replace the ones that got damaged and finally summer tires. Lot more time consuming and expensive than planned.

Guess I'll get them broken in this week and pray for no more snow in NewBrunswick.

Do you realize that in about 40 years, we'll have thousands of old ladies running around with tattoos?

Depends on your car too.  My VW manual says front to back and back to front, no cross.   The Honda manual has them crossed with a blurb on not crossing them if running directional tires.
