The Traverse is a nice looking vehicle. About 1.5 years ago, when we were looking for a replacement for our 2004 Ford Freestar Sport we were looking at the Saturn Outlook and the GMC Acadia which share the same Lambda platform as the Traverse. We opted for a Hyundai Santa Fe, thinking at the time that the extra 2 seats (5 + 2 = 7) offered by the GL Premium AWD would see occasional use only. In retrospect, we miss the cargo carrying capability of the van and there's not as much room for our dog as we'd like for long trips but how often do we do that? I've got a rooftop carrier for those long trips and we've all made adjustments consequently. Still, I'm wondering if the GMs might have been a better fit for us. They're very fuel efficient for their size, fit lots of kids and kaboodle and don't scream "Soccer Mom!" like a minivan.
