195/65/15 vs new size 205/60/15
« on: March 14, 2009, 02:17:27 pm »
I am trying to find set of used all seasons for my 2000 Honda Accord. Can I change from 195/65/15 to 205/60/15.

According to this web site the 205's will spin 1.2% faster. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

That seems ok. Is there other considerations to take. IE: too wide for a stock Alloy wheels etc etc.

Thanks

How wide is your stock rim?  The 195s will fit a 5"-7" rim, while the 205s fit a 5.5"-8" rim.  Shouldn't be a problem.

If the load ratings change, you may have to play with tire pressures to find the best place for wear, handling, and economy.

Pls ignore my question as I have bought tires. Stuck with original size.
