Also, bear in mind that the Matrix is a platform twin to the Pontiac Vibe. These cars are very similar in look, feel and size, but test drive both back-to-back and you’ll notice some differences; one of these is the sound the doors make when they slam shut. I am to assume that the Vibe might have a better sound when doors are shut?

Would that mean that vibe might have more sound deadening.
Remarkable how almost every review talks about rattles coming from somewhere in these cars. I have read mostly about poor fitting door panels and now this reviewer talks about noise from within dash. That would drive me nuts.
Also no comments in this article about steering. I read one article about new Corolla where reviewer said he had more on center feel with the soap box car he had as a kid that had ropes for steering. He commented about have to make constant corrections just to track in a straight line. That sounds very bad but I guess I will have to judge for myself in a test drive.
Thinking about checking out Vibe (prefer looks over Matrix). They also have $2000 off cash purchase at moment. Might also give Versa a test drive but surprisingly based on web site pricing I have done it might cost just as much as Vibe when equipped with sunroof and other nice stuff. That make no sense.
