I recently purched a 1 year old Chev Impala from Fredicton Hyundai. Up until I closed the deal all was great. After that I was treated like s**t. I wrote to the sales manager and later spoke to him on the phone. Told him of my HORRIBLE experience and have not heard from him or the dealership since. Promises not kept, hidden costs, no attention, extreamly poor detailing. All this topped off by several notes telling me how important I am as a cutomer to them and since I had such a great experience would I recommend them to a friend? I would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy!!!  STAY AWAY

My sister purchased a 2 year old Hyundai Sonata from a Hyundai dealer in Calgary and has had a similar experience.  She's not all that pleased with Hyundai service.  She's happy with the car now that it's repaired (Can't remember what was wrong).

Hyundai may have brought their product up to Japanese levels in terms of quality but many in their dealer network are holdovers from the "bad old days" of selling the Pony and Stellar. (push as much iron as quickly as you can, anyway you can). I know when I was shopping the Santa Fe last year I got that "sleazy car salesman vibe" from our local Hyundai store.

So what exactly happened?  Since it is a GM car you are better off taking it to a GM Dealer.

I agree with MrGoody on this one as they specialize in this brand of vehicle. Of course not all dealerships treat folks this way for any make and model but some of them do and only hurt themselves by doing it. They seem to forget that they Need Us more then we need them. We can always go elsewhere to buy the products we need but they lose the sale which they need to stay in business with. This poster doutbfully will ever go back and purchase another vehicle again from this dealership and probably tell a lot of friends about it to which will also cost them sales in the long run.  Smiley

That's interesting, 'cause that's where I bought my Subaru a couple of years ago.  (why on earth anyone would trade a 1 year old Outback in for a Hyundai minivan, that's fodder for another thread).

They were good to deal with, actually brought the car down to SJ both for me to test drive, and for delivery....only glitch I had was the floor mats, which they forgot, but after I remined them a couple of times, they sent them down.

Based on my experience, I wouldn't hesitate to deal with them again.  Dave Oleary and Bob Brown (GM and Business Manager, I think) were the guys I was dealing with.

I dealt with Oleary's Pontiac when I bought my Vibe. Salesguy was great, business manager was fine, and the service manager went above and beyond.

I can't imagine the Hyundai place would be that much worse.

Hey, what happened to your thumb?  Corporate takeover shrunk it, and turned you into an alky?

Now how about some "detailing" from you about exactly what happened.
