My Vibe wasn't exactly plush. The Mazda3 was more compliant yet still more controlled and less body roll. Not enough cargo space, so practicality won out. |

Now for the bad part On the highway you could feel every small bump. it,s worse in town. There is also a huge amount of road noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. This is a noisey rough vehicle on the highway. The electric steering is very heavy feeling on the highway also. My Highlander is way more smoother & quieter on the road. The killer was the amount they offered me in a 15 month old Highlander on trade. Less then 1/2 of msrp. Needless to say; the highlander is not getting traded in.
Interesting, and not something I was hoping/expecting to hear. From what I've read on the Venza forums is that most people are pretty impressed with the driveability... some US owners have had their cars since the beginning of December with no complaints mentioned. I'll have to take one for a spin myself one day. |

The radio is Camry issue. Along with much of the rest of the vehicle. However, the VALUE unit will be the I4 and particularly in AWD.
Yep, an overpriced 4-banger with a buckboard ride sounds like a real deal. BTW, time to change your sig file, Stevie. |

Given the I-4 Camry is around 9.5 seconds to 100km/hr and the Venza is up to 220kgs heavier, plus the added 15% or so for AWD driveline losses, she'll be designed for the senior's market for sure.

Actually..Venza is quicker.....9.3 seconds to 60. Impressive considering the weight.... That's what...only .5 second slower than an Outback?? http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/FullTests/articleId=137526?tid=edmunds.h..topfeatures.venzaft.0 |

The I4 Venza and the I4 Camry have different engines and different transmissions. But hey, what do facts have anything to do with it. |

GM can only dream of a manufacturing a vehicle like an I4 AWD Venza. Tic toc, tic toc I'd buy the 2010 Equinox AWD with the direct injection I4 over a Venza. No contest. |

That Edmunds test was for the front wheel drive Venza. More weight and more driveline losses aren't going to improve its performance. True, but the Outback is 200+kg lighter, comes with a manual transmission, a very good AWD system and I've gotten 7.0L/100km with it. Plus it comes in a spiffy two-tone paint scheme! The basic problem I have is Toyota is doing what the Big Three have done: too many overlapping models. They already have the RAV4 for those concerned with fuel economy, and the Highlander for those who need the room. This straddles both. All it's going to do is cannibalize Toyota's other models. |

Well put. I've also heard of some disturbing trends with respect to Toyota's quality relative to other makes. My wife's Hyundai Santa Fe reminds me very much of where Toyota came from, not where it's going. In the early 2000's, none other than Mr. Toyoda himself told his engineers to go back to their staple business which was/is designing and producing high quality automobiles when they started slipping in the JD Powers Initial Quality survey. I've had one or two Toyotas over the years and have sat in and driven some of the newer ones like the Sienna and have been overwhelmed with the perceived quality of them relative to a mid 90's Camry that I once had. Watering down of their model lines' identity isn't a good way to hang on to your core business. I'm sure there's a lot more to the equation than that, but it makes one think about the brand's outlook. |

You haven't been paying attention. No matter what your personal experience is, NO Subaru gets better than 27 mpg. Someone said so, right here on this forum. So, just like me, your personal experience must be wrong! |
