repair under warranty
« on: December 22, 2008, 04:54:55 pm »
Hello, Guys

Here is a question: I bought a VW out of town, if something is wrong or broken and its under the standard VW warranty, can I take the car to any of my local dealership to repair for free?

Thanks

But do you know if there is any paper documenting these info? I can not find it on vw.ca website.

The dealer will run the car's VIN in the system. He will have the entire warranty repair history of the car as well as when the warranty expires, unperformed recalls, etc.

yes indeed.   I have owned 3 VWs and neither of the first two ever saw the selling dealer again after purchase and possibly neither will the 3rd one.

Check the owner's manual that came with your car.   If it is a warranty repair, it'll be paid for by the manufacturer.  So any good VW dealer will do.
