Not a single GM car on the list. Only one from the "Big 2.5."

Ahh... number of reads... must've missed it somewhere. So this really has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of car, driving enjoyment, reliability or anything else that someone might refer to in their 'conspiracy'? |

Not wishing to pick nits, but based on reads on this site, is rather a meaningless stat, don't you think? Proves exactly nothing, other than readers of this site are interested in reading about certain vehicles over others. May be useful for site advertising purposes, other than that, what good is the stat? |

Proves exactly nothing, other than readers of this site are interested in reading about certain vehicles over others. May be useful for site advertising purposes, other than that, what good is the stat? I think the mfrs would find it interesting and useful as a sort of unintentional focus group; would give them some guidance in a variety of ways. For site readers, it tells us a bit about our fellow travellers here. Provides ammo for the GM bashers and the VW bashers, for instance... But perhaps most importantly, I imagine the site management makes some decisions about what cars to write about, and this list would discourage them from ensuring that they drive and write in detail about every new model year and trim level of Kia Rondo, for example. |

what good is the stat? It is a very useful stat. First, it tells the editor what products site readers are interested in. The management can then market advertising space to the manufacturers that readers like to view. From a marketing point of view, I am not sure if would be a good idea to actually publish these figures in that it may discourage existing or potential advertisers. |

For site readers, it tells us a bit about our fellow travellers here. Provides ammo for the GM bashers and the VW bashers, for instance... Curious statement there. What was the most-read article of 2008 again? |

How can we ensure Mitlov wan't personally responsible for 1/2 the 'read' count on his own for the A4! Seriously, though, I'm with initial_d. Like with any statistic, you have to account for pages loaded in error, how many of those were 'new' to the article or repeat visitors (as I jokingly suggested), etc. As a broad-strokes interest story, it's interesting. If you could - for example - compare the number of times the A4 was pulled up versus a comparable 3 Series, that may have some merit, but still with some caveats (new launch vs exisiting platform). Could fuel a flame war though. Iremember a time a bunch of friends and I in high school were going to call in and vote for a song from 4 years prior to get it to the number one spot for laughs. Now, if you will excuse me, I'm going to go re-read the Greg Wilson article on the brand new 2002 Kia Spectra. Hmmm - the GS-X version you say, Greg? This could be a repeatedly interesting article.... |
