Nice! I really like your kitchen layout. Makes great use of the space. Ours is a similar size, but the layout isn't nearly as good.

Thanks. It's a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath condo of approx 1100 sq ft. As it is a vacation place we don't need much storage in the kitchen as we mostly eat out in the evenings anyway. I think the same for the people that rent it during the Winter months.

Working on a model of the Lost in Space robot.

All of the flexible parts are blow molded vinyl. This is causing fits for most model builders who are only familiar with plastic and model paints. I'm really pleased with the job I've done on these parts. I started with a base of Duplicolor Charcoal Grey vinyl paint which has an adhesion promoter and acts as it's own primer. Then I decanted that into an airbrush and mixed it with a bit of Duplicolor white lacquer and Duplicolor Radiant Silver lacquer. This replicates the look of these parts later in the series when they were painted a metalic grey. I not only nailed the colour, I got a very durable finish compared to folks trying to figure how to do this with plastic model paint.

The tread section is under construction and I've made a modification. I epoxied blocks of wood inside the bottom plates of the tread boxes and installed 1/4 20 blind nuts. This will allow the robot to be solidly bolted to a base. I have nylon bolts which will offer some flexibility. The use of nylon bolts is a trick I picked up from my RC model airplane days.  In the event of impact, there is a reasonable chance that the bolts will break before the model itself breaks.

If you want the bolts to break in case of a mishap, just saw them halfway through.....they will still thread but will more readily snap off...
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Super nice!  I've always loved reddish wood (especially cherry).

Do you have under-counter lighting?  Looks like it would need it, if you don't.

  Looks great!  Nice modern look to it and easy to clean. I like how the island is on wheels.  We had a movable island at our last house and it came in handy.

Thanks all. We were thinking first about going the Zebra Wood way but thought it would be out of vogue in a year or two so opted for this. We reused the handle pulls so maybe should've gone with something matching the fridge or dishwasher door handles. Can always change them out after.

I bought a nice belt today.  Stylish and very sturdy.  It's called the Bison Designs Last Chance belt.  The solid aluminum bucklet is thick and robust without looking too cumbersome.  The way it cinches is easy yet will not come loose.  It's easy to tighten...just loop the end of the belt under then over the buckle and cinch.  The designs means it can't come loose.  This prompted me to hope that I never have a need to very quickly get my pants down for any reason!  Once this belt is cinched, it takes a couple extra seconds to remove than a traditional belt.  This will wear very, very well.  I can't imagine ruining this belt, even with abusive use.  I got the black with silver buckle.  I think I might buy a couple more in different colors.  $18..a bargain.

BTW..all of theior belts seem to be of high quality.

I'd not be surprised if I ever read a story of someone who used this belt to cinch them on a mountain or open door of an airplane to keep them from falling off.   ;D

AVOID.  Pure sh*t; dressed to lock nice.  Single piston and last time I looked not refillable.
