Test Drive: The MKS replaces the Town Car as Lincoln's flagship sedan for 2009. It's "big and silky," says Assistant Editor Jil McIntosh, but its steering and handling is more at home on urban streets than on twisty roads. More: View the photos | All the Test Drives

The interior design doesn't match the price point. For comparison: |

IIRC, Edmunds disliked the interior and thought it was a bit cheap......I didn't think it was terrible though.
Not sure if what Mitlov is saying is a positive thing or a negative thing..... |

Negative. I think it looks like a flagship non-luxury sedan, not a midsize luxury cruiser. Admittedly, I haven't seen it in pictures, and some interiors just photograph poorly (i.e., the new C-Class). |

The only thing that matters. Will it make a good limo for the downtown to airport run. Thats the only reason for the existence of Lincoln in the Centre Of The Universe. |

I find this whole "MK" thing confusing. When I hear "MK...something" I have to see a picture to know which model they're talking about. |

It sounds like a perfect car to run the 400 series hiways Quiet and comfortable what more would you want on straight road Why would you want the rear seats to fold down in a car like this? |

^^^ I wouldn't buy a car without a folding rear seat, no matter the price point. Even rich people go to IKEA sometimes. |

I think that this class of car is better with a column shifter and no tunnel. Makes more sense to me to have the open space. That being said it seems to follow defined practice here...all competition do the same thing. Do not dislike the dash for this genre and overall a nice looking vehicle.

I saw on of these parked yesterday as I looked out through the window of my local gym whilst I was on the rowing machine, and I thought - what a good looker. The first hurdle is the initial photogenic one, and apart from the negative absence of a manual transmission which is to be expected these days, would be definitely worth investigating further. |

$60k for a big comfy cruiser? Let's just say I am clearly not their target demographic.

The 340HP EcoBoost engine will also come with a more buttoned down suspension. |

Interior is is a mish-mash of elegant, refined and cheap bits, with terrible truckish looking airvents. The Flex interior execution looks better. The refreshed 2010 MKZ suffers the same interior as the MKS http://jalopnik.com/photogallery/2010mkzpressint/1004698671 |

Not very many luxury cars offer fold down seats -- kind of funny actually.
For the most part the reason the seats do not fold is for structural rigidity. That of course makes the car handle better, as well I'm sure it adds it's smooth ride and quiet interior.
I hope they don't do it just for the handling as most of these buyers are well beyond the "sporty handling" phase that pretty much all the journalists expect but the buyers do not hahaha.
Oh the CTS has folding seats and it drives wonderfully.... |

Just what the world needs right now, another big, leather-lined luxo barge for the country club set. I recall reading a story a few years ago about people waiting in breadlines during the Dirty Thirties throwing rocks and bottles at any Lincoln or Caddy that happened by. History may very well be repeating itself. |
