No argument here... but they are still buyin' big-ticket machines at the show.

Or just printing up "sold" stickers to make us think so....

You can get tickets online for $15. Any word on which companies WILL participate?

hello the last time i went to this show was back in 03-04 - it was a good show, lots to see and lots of people.  Do you think this year's show will be better?

I'm sure there will be some sort of get together.

Not long to wait now!

http://www.canadiandriver.com/2009/02/05/preview-2009-canadian-international-auto-show-feb-13-22-2009.htm

I didn't know Canada was receiving the S4 Avant.

I didn't know Canada was receiving the S4 Avant.

"The high-performance versions of the new A4, the Audi S4 sedan and the S4 Avant (wagon) will feature a 3.0-litre V6 with direct fuel injection and turbocharging, delivering 333 horsepower."

I thought it was going to be supercharged?

How is it possible that after electricity has traveled through hundreds of miles of power line then hundreds of feet (or yards) of romex in our home, that changing the last three feet of wire with something exotic, expensive (cool looking, and packaged in a pricey box) is going to make a difference?

Not me.    100 Kms worth of Premium each way +  leaving TO rush hour + parking + $15 or $20  + a burger to sustain life for that TO rush hour    is too much to see the Golf VI.   I really cannot see anything else worth the effort this year.

Trust me when I say I'll be thoroughly examining the Golf VI for the both of us!

Park at Yorkdale Mall and take the subway. This way you don't pay parking and avoid downtown traffic.

Better yet, take the GO Train from Hamilton (or anything up to Appleby). Quieter and more comfortable plus you don't have to come into the city.

@Carcrazy.   I lived in downtown TO for nearly 30 years.   Its the dragging out on the Gardiner/427/401 that I have grown to dislike since I moved.

@Quad.   I'd take the Greyhound from Guelph, were I to use transit

The real point gentlemen is that there is nothing exciting to see.
The show is just too expensive in a dull year.

Subway is what now?  About $6 for a return trip downtown and having to travel on the subway at rush hour. yecch.  Still that gas  160km return from 401 and YorkMills at 8l/100km   at 95c for premium   $19   + the ticket. Still too much. The Greyhound IIRC is $41 return.
I'll wait until the Golf VI arrives at my local dealer and of course the Fiesta will be at my local dealer sooner or later.   I keep up with the BMW, Audi and M-B lines anyway, seen the new Fit so thats it for my interest in cars which I might buy.

But what about all that camaraderie you'll miss? Priceless. Wink
