I have an '08 LX Fit and have to agree that the OEM tires are crap.  They're Dunlop SP31 A/S.  Besides giving off plenty of road noise, they have a bad feel of the road.
Last month I put on Michelin X-Ice snowies, with rims, and what a difference.  I expected snowies to be louder, but these are quiet and give a nice feel to the road.  Much softer.

I know when I got my Michelin X-Ice winter tires for my yaris, i couldnt help but remark how INCREDIBLE they were compared to the stock OEM ones... in the yaris's case, 14" potenzas.

They were def more quiet, smooth. a far, far, nicer ride. that was certainly something i wasnt expecting when i did the  trade the first time for winter tires.

Give the manual a decent highway gear and this car would be on the top of my list. Most of my mileage is highway and doing close to 4000 rpm on long stretches would get grating fast. Not to mention that you would get better highway mileage as well.

Does anyone know how the tires on the Fit Sport compare with the tires on the LX?  I've heard nothing bad bad things about the tires...  does that extend to the bigger tires on the Sport model?

I was set on the LX, with the intent to buy some nice alloys later on...  but the Sport is only $1800 more, and comes with nice alloys, and a set of aftermarket alloys + tires would run at least $1000 anyway...

I have no complaints about the tires on my wife's Sport and think the large alloys look great.  They've even done a decent job in the snow so far.  I think the Sport offers pretty solid value for money.

I think you are referring to the last generation fit. The base models had the 14 inch wheels. The sport had the 15 inch alloys no complaints from me.

Huh  I've heard lots of bad things about the tires on the previous generation DX and LX models.  I was wondering if the Sport had better tires or not.

If they've fixed the tire problem overall on the new model, that's even better, but I haven't heard much about tires on the new model yet...

Anyway, good to hear you haven't had any problems with the tires on yours!  Hopefully that means they're putting decent rubber on the Sports...
