And I would go '06 Caravan (actually, would go new at 0% for what they cost... $18 - hope that '06 isn't over $13-14) or '05 Odyssey.
Not much help, are we? |

Are you transporting children and their seats? if yes, how many? Reason being, check the arrangement of seats, their movement and ease of use for installing child seats.
e.g. Sienna has LATCH system in the 3rd row seat for two child seats and I'm sure all of them have plenty of room. Its the second row setup that has been the deciding factor for people among my family/acquaintances.
I'd look into sirAquaman's suggestion of new Caravans at firesale prices. |

'04 Sienna w/ 65000kms would be my choice, but every used car needs updating so budget 1K in repairs. Assume this is a car on a used car lot and you're paying GST.
If you qualify for 0% then a new stripper Caravan might be worth a look. It depends on how basic a vehicle you can stand. |

I personally like the Quest.. don't know how reliable it is though Mine's been good except for the brakes (lower than expected life - rears). If buying a used one from the states avoid the PAX tires/rims. Quests and Siennas seems to be about the only vans without grenade transmissions. |

OK, maybe I should ask this question instead...I have a husband, baby and 2 medium sized dogs, what could I buy that would fit all of us that is safe and reliable. We can only afford around 15,000$ max. New or used, doesn't matter. Thanks |

We used to take the dogs everywhere with us in our car. They would stay in the back seat. Now, with the baby in the back, they can't come out with us. They would be in a vehicle with us at least once a day. |

Don't take this the wrong way -- I just wonder why anyone would want to constantly take their dogs with them. They are much safer sitting at home then in the back of a van for sure.... I don't quite get it.... |

I don't quite get why anyone would want to drive a supercharged roadster. Afterall, you'd be much safer sitting at home in front of a big screen TV. I don't quite get it....... (for some people, dogs are not only an integral part of the family, they ARE family) |

Sure I understand that -- my cats are family too and I use to have a dog, but we never took him places.
He LOVED to ride in the car, once and awhile we could take him to see my grandparents dog and run around he loved the car ride because of the destination -- but I can't imagine taking my dog with me to do errands. |

Hyundai Entourage L can be had for 20k cash, brand new. 2009 Chevy Uplander with 3.9L V6, auto, fully packed, brand new is sold for 15,988 cash and it looks like (from newcar magazine in GTA) they will throw in 60 mth financing at 0%. The ad is from Addison Chevrolet. Why buy used??? |

Why does it matter if I take my dogs out of the house everyday? That doesn't really help me very much.
We take our dogs to various dog parks for exercise everyday. Or on the weekends, take them with us on a hike. Or, take them to the vet. We didn't get 2 dogs so they could sit in the house and rot all day every day.
Anyway, thank you to all who have replied with advice about a vehicle. |
