Yokohama Geolandar I/T G072 vs Blizzack DM-Z3
« on: October 27, 2008, 09:26:50 pm »
I need a set of winter tires for an 07 Pacifica.  I have been trying to decide between the Yokohama Geolandar I/T G072 and Blizzack DM-Z3.  They price out around the same for a set of four.  Any thoughts on either?

Sorry I haven't tried either, but will be trying the DM-Z3... unfortunately by that time you would have to have already decided.

In general, it's tough to go wrong with Blizzaks.

I've had a couple sets of older Geolandar I/Ts - one set was phenomenal and the other merely average - but the new G072s appear to be a completely new design.

Looks like Yokohama also has a rebate offer right now: http://www.yokohama.ca/common/rebate/winter_rebate_en.html

Thanks for the heads up on the rebate!  That's $60 off the cost of the Yokos.  The DM-Z3 have a great tread, especially for ice but I am wondering if the Yokos will handle the heavy snow better - I'm in Alberta.

I bought the Yokohama Gerolander I/T G072...we had some freezing rain here and they stuck like glue!  The past few days we have had steady snow flurries and I am yet to see the Yokohamas spin...very pleased with the tires.

How are the tires after one full winter. I had to make a decision and did - and I went with these. Can't wait till the bad weather hits (again)
