Wife did the SUV today.

I'll get my car done this or next weekend depending on my garage's availability.

Winter can be pretty unpredictable in the prairies.

The tires on my car change character according to weather. I will start calling them Winter Tires until warm weather arrives.

Yes, its an attempt at humour. My car has Nokian WR tires.

I'm waiting for snow or ice in the weather forecast before making the change over.   It should be a pretty simple jackup the cars and swap the wheels job.

Wow you guys are keeners. ;) Since switching the VR to high performance all seasons I wait until the snow flys and sticks before I swap on my winter wheels/tires in my garage. Probably will make the swap in late November. When I was running the summer Pirreli Rosso's I was a little more prudent as getting caught in the snow with these was certain disaster.

The V rated-Hankook V4ES (All seasons) I am running  can cope (barely) with a light snowfall. The old Pirelli's (summer) could barely get up a very slightly inclined driveway on an AWD car. The tread was about as flexible as a hockey puck at anything below 0. For kicks I took the Volvo for a late night spin around the neighbourhood in some fresh snow with the Pireelis on. Lets just say I will never repeat that mistake again. ;D

I took the VR for a spin, disabled the stability control and tried to get the car loose on my favourite corner. No dice the all seasons are sticking just fine at 2 degrees C. I will try another test when we see -5 and perhaps some early morning frost to see if I have lost substantial grip.

Snows on this morning.   Did the Fit myself and now have fresh new Gislaveds on steelies on the GTI done at the tire store.

The Blizzaks for the Fit had lost only  1 psi since I took them off in the spring... they came nitrogen filled from TT
