I'm really liking the Corvette GS too...I think they'll do well with that one.

I dunno..when I saw it I thought "Same old GM".  Add on some scoops and vents to make it look like a Z06 without it actually being a Z06 or having Z06 performance and sell it.

I can see why as the functional changes come with the manual transmission.   :stick:

With the MT, you get the dry-sump engine that's made in the same plant as the Z06 and CTS-V...hand-built and signed by the guy that built it.  That's cool.  Even cooler that it gets more HP than the engine that's not hand-built.

The GS also gets the Z06 brakes...along with the scoops, and other bodywork from the Z06 to make room for the GSs larger tires.

Here's the Autoblog summary:  "That's only about $6,000 more than the base car and nearly $20,000 less than the Z06. This may be one of the best performance bargains on the road even if its seats do suck. Zora would be proud."

Oh...one more thing from AutoBlog - "using the new launch control system "WILL NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY" – unlike a certain Japanese sports car."

If it flies, floats or f#%&s...rent it.

3:19.0 - Mazda RX8 (06)
3:19.0 - Subaru WRX STI (08)
3:19.3 - Volkswagen GTI (09)

I was surprised with how close these three were or more surprised that the STI wasn't faster than the other two.

No kidding... which suggests that simply having power doesn't trump good handling too... even on a track that some think might favour the higher power cars.

I could care less what you drive...as long as you're happy, I'm happy.

Personally, I could live with an AT as long as the car's engine made more TQ than the car's starter motor...... :stick:

THAT, is one very nice car indeed, just added to my dream car list.

There is a law of diminishing returns when it comes to HP.  Traction...

I've not driven a 335i, but I have driven a 135i and the M6 and they both feel wonderfully, frighteningly fast.  Seat of the pants would be difficult to determine the quicker machine.   Still, as glorious as that turbo I-6 is, it sure doesn't have the soundtrack of the V10.  :)
