Not a really cheap place to buy tires. www.tirerack.com has a lot better deals, even if you ship to Canada

For many tires, 1010tires is competitive in Canadian pricing, but the no-shipping is an advantage.  TireRack's shipping, duty and brokerage fees bring them almost the same as most Canadian pricing.  Also, TireRack is not big on steel wheels, though they do have alloy wheels for only $74 each to fit my Corolla.

1010tires' prices on steel wheels are OUTRAGEOUS!  (30%+ than TireTrends)

I have to disagree on that.....I bought 4 General Altimax HP's from Tirerack for the Maxi and saved about $220 CDN (Could have saved another $120 or so if I'd driven the 100 kms to the border and picked them up from the UPS depot)

Depends on the tire.  TireRack's price on the package I need is $934USD vs. $902CDN from TireTrends.  The difference is that TireRack has alloy wheels vs. steels from TireTrends.

Good to hear that, given the new winter tire law in Quebec, I have at least 6 friends are looking for a set of 196/65/15 winter tire now, so my thinking is if we group together for one size, one brand (eg, contiviking3), one shipping address, whether tiretrend can give more discount. and i can easily raise the group over 10 and if I post to group in montreal, it may be over 20(80tires).

Were you able to find steel rims on their site? I was searching for packages and they only offered alu wheels.

I'm shopping for winter tires, and probably including alloy rims.  But TireTrends has no option to look up Suzuki vehicles newer than 2004.  So the rim/package search feature won't work for me.

Our '06 Grand Vitara has 225/65R17's, but I think it makes more sense, (and saves $$), to get a set of 225/70R16's (as used on the cheaper GV models) for winter use.  Oh, if anyone has a set of OEM alloy rims for it that they don't need, I'd be pleased to buy them.

Im searching for the best winter tire possible for our upcomming Quebec winter to go on my new '08 Civic (195/65/15)... that said ive narrowed the search down to 2 studded winter tires, the Nokian hakka 5's or conti winterviking 2. Whats your take on these two tires?

If i opte for the viking 2's, does tiretrend also sell  steel rims to go with the tires? Can tiretrend install and balance them on the rims(if applicable)?
