Topic: Anyone know where to have a detailer using Diamond Kote?

You're better off using a GOOD product that is of a higher quality. You have to understand that Diamond Kote is only a back-end profit margin for the dealership's business office. When you pay for the application of this product, you are paying primarily for the warranty that it offers - not the quality of the product.

A suggestion I might make in leu of Diamond Kote if you are looking for a 'sealant-type' product, is Meguiars M2116 Synthetic Sealant. It needs to be applied on an annual basis to a properly-prepared (wash vehicle and then clay bar it) paint surface in order to maintain its effectiveness and longevity.

I do agree as Mcquiars is a 1st class product as I use it on my show truck.

DK sucks.  I realized it is just a profit add up by the dealer.  I have it on my MPV.  After four years on annual inspection dealer found rust on bottom front door seems.  They told me to call DK customer service and to ask about the next step.  Called them and the lady who picked up was so uncooperative, she told me to ask the dealer to reapply DK. Dealer said bring the MPV back and they will take pictures and send it to DK.  I have no hope but I will go to the dealer.
   
Pathetic customer service. I wish I had read this forum before buying my MPV.

To be fair, I do know some people (I have worked in the car industry in the dealership side of things) who strongly believe in the paint sealants and protection-type products. However, at the end of the day nothing beats regular maintenance and proper cleaning techniques with the use of tried and tested, but most importantly 'quality' products.

Diamond Kote just isn't worth it. Ask someone who has a vintage car in showroom condition and see what they say.

A quality wax and glaze will protect your car just as well, and, for much less money.

Don't fall for fancy names like Diamond Kote, its just a marketing term and gimmick. In the end, if you protect your car with a good wax and keep it clean by hand washing it, that's the best way to have it look new.

I would beg to differ.  I have a '95 Safari with diamond-kote that I severely abuse, I havn't washed it in over 2 years, been in 2 accidents and it has only been rained on. 
I finally washed it to my wifes request, bird droppings tree sap and all. When done my neighbor came across the street and commented as to how good it looked even where there is damage on the door it still looks good. there are no swirrel marks and finish is still relativly smooth to touch.
As for your corrosion,  I'm sure you know a coating will not protect your metal where it is not applied (backside of paint) and if you live in an area where there is alot of snow....  and salt/sand,  well  you really need to wash that stuff off regularly. Living in BC we don't have so much salt/sand and lots of rain to wash it off.
 If I ever buy a new car I will get it Diamond-Kote'd.  I'm really impressed.
