Wish the manual was available with 4MOTION and the diesel was here already. In every market it seems the Tiguan has become a much bigger hit than initially anticipated, and I've heard there's an 11 month wait list in Europe. Tiguan was delayed for North America largely because of this. I fully expect it to be received as well here. And suspect for as long as VW can sell the diesels overseas for more, we will continue to be deprived unfortunately. [/color]

I totally agree.

I’m not buying the excuse from the VW rep about “wasn't confident that it would operate as cleanly in the harsher conditions”. That’s lame. Not being able to keep up with the demand overseas, and being able to charge more for the popular Diesel version sounds more realistic. It’s all about profits.
I’m keeping my money until I see a Tiguan with a Diesel and a 6 speed manual. But hey if Subaru puts their new Diesel/6 speed manual into the new Forester, or Toyota does something similar for a new Rav4 then VW will have no more unique offering. Then it will be an even more interesting compact SUV market.
