2009 Acura TSX
« on: August 02, 2008, 05:12:58 pm »
My mom just got a new car, 09 Acura TSX in Grigio Metallic. It has the Premium package with the protection package (all weather floor mats, mud flaps). Just got it home with 37km on it.

And a pic of my Lancer. (You can also see my brothers 04 Impreza in most pics)

As an owner of a 2004 (Gen-1) TSX, I have to say that I really dislike the grill on the new model.  HOWEVER, from the headlights back, it's gorgeous, I love it.
2004 TSX. Lovin' every minute of it!

I'm sure it's a wonderful car to drive, but I just can't get past that big grin on it's beak - it's like the Grinch got dipped in a vat of chrome.  :o The new TSX is nowhere near as smooth and elegant as the previous gen, IMO.

Hmm... Do you and your brother have any rally battles?  ;D

Anyway, it's a nice car, apart from the grill.  :P

Like I said, no doubt a wonderful car to drive, and I'm glad JVan's Mom likes it. I don't happen to like where Honda/Acura is going with it's styling these days and that's all I was trying to express. Sorry if that offends you, Snowy.

Pretty nice car.  Do Honda/Acura dealers in Saskatoon normally put on both dealer decals and license plate frame?

Agreed. Honda needs to visit the orthodontist.

The other things against the redesign imho are that its slower and apparently doesn't corner as well despite the fancy new suspension, and they missed the opportunity for a price drop. I guess they went 100% mass market on the first two points.

My sister's new car had two decals and a plate frame...

I like the new TSX - looks fantastic, especially in that colour.  Good choice.  :)

Previous Acura's have been a little bland, still attractive but a little bland. I guess Acura is trying to be more stylish and trying to separate itself from other brands. I don't find the grill offensive, it definitely isn't its best part of the car(head light design IMO) but overall I think its a great looking car.

It may not handle as good or be as fast as the last gen but this car won't be pushed hard at all, even when I'm driving it.  I've driven the last gen a few times, this one just seems to try and refine it a bit more.

It does not offend me at all but this is not the place to post criticism on a fellow posters vehicle of choice. Never miss an opportunity to keep your mouth shut.

I've seen few of these in person, smooth sleek lines overall.

Well for the purpose for which the car was purchased, it's going to suit everyone just fine. At least you can tell it's the new one and in looking at it it kinda reminds me of the CTS front end. Same on the sides and bottom with only the top to give it away.

Gotta admit though looking at pictures of that Saskatoon neighbourhood, it sure has grown and look no snow!  But how can your parents live in Kelowna and you and your Mom and brother are in Saskatoon where it seems the car was bought and your living?

Me and my bro are visiting my parents in Kelowna (where the pictures are taken). My finger got cut off at work so I have a bit of free time till it heals so I'm out here for a couple weeks.

Congrats on the TSX, like the colour and the car. I'm mixed on the styling update, but overall a very attractive tight package.

Haven't been inside the new one but am looking forward to scoping one out sometime.

PS, Your Lancer's colour with what looks like the photo as matching wheels is pretty smokin'.

i had a 2004 tsx and it was great.  personally i think the new design is a good step forward.  it doesn't jump too far away from the old design and it didn't become big and fat.  i am sure you...errrr  your mom will love driving it.  love the colour too.  the tsx is still one of the best cars in its class.

Noticed a couple new EU Accords on the streets this weekend and was surprised that it has grown quite substantially.
Most here probably now that the front clip on the euro Accord (your TSX) is quite different but the rest of the cars design is the same.
When I first saw the car coming towards me from a distance I mistook it as an Avalon.
Here is a pic from head on http://www.honda.ee/index.php?m=2&l=2&n=11
I must say I like the car in the flesh much more then when I first seen the intro pics.
The lines are very nice along the side with the dramatic front wheel well arches, and the execution is quite nice in the rear end.

And again was surprised at the larger size being longer and the wheel base looks much wider. I look forward to seeing the wagon variant on the streets here. http://www.honda.ee/index.php?m=2&l=2&n=6
