The official name for 2009 will be "2.0 TSI".
But it is not Audi's 211HP/258lb-ft 2.0L turbo.
So the 2009 2.0T is basically unchanged in VWs except for the chain?
What happened to the 225hp 2.0T?
The 225 2.0T was the older pre direct injection engine, it was itself a derivative of the 1.8T engine from the A4
The TSI ( chain engine) has several changes over the TFSI ( belt engine) AFAIK all for long term reliability such as the chain drive, oil pump, high pressure fuel pump, oil filter type and placement and a couple of other minor things. Again AFAIK, it is supplied to NA buyers with the same output as the earlier engine. I know nothing of the Audi engine JSCC mentions but I wonder if it is a longitudinal and/or slightly chipped version of the same TFSI engine just to give the premium brand an edge.
Any of these 2.0Turbos could have many more horsepower. The TFSI gets 250 bhp/250 lb/ft with stage one chip alone. The TSI supposedly has a different encryption applied to the ECU memory and will have to wait a while before chips appear for it.
