Only $466.36 for 36 months.

... I got really excited about that until I saw the nearly $3500 downpayment included in that.   Tongue

When the rates come down and the cars are being discounted next summer, THAT will be the time to strike, methinks.

I’m sure by next summer you will easily get $2k off and perhaps a better rate. That is my plan. I don’t see the 2009 STI on SOC yet  Sad

Snowman, for someone like you who is experienced in modding up WRXs, is the STI really worth the extra bucks when the 265 is getting so close to STI performance?  The fancy-pants diffs and bigger fender flares are worth the $$ to you?

The diffs would be nice but not worth the extra $$$ considering the times I would be pushing the limit during hard cornering. At the end of the day I will most likely revert back to common sense and logic and go with a WRX265.

I find it hard to believe I could possibly own a third WRX in a row considering my track record for jumping around. But dollar for dollar I still think they are the best value for an all-season practical performance car. $34k plus $3k in mods will make it even more fun  Smiley

The rumor is that in 2010 or 11 there going to add a 6-speed. Something I think the car has need for a few years now.

And in other news by 2020 they finally replace the 4-speed auto in other models.  ROFL

I’m not convinced a six speed is good fro daily driving. To me that extra shift can be a PITA at times while tearing around the streets.

When we see the rates on the 2009 base STI at $39k the difference will be much less.

This maybe true the only 6 speed that I have ever driven was the RSX type-s and it was a joy to row. But if you have a lot of lower end torque you may not need it.  I think there would be a good increase in millage on the highway with a sixth speed though. 120 kph in fifth is 3000 rpm I think it should be closer to 2200.

This would only be true if the changed the final ratio and not fill in a ratio in the middle with the extra cog.

Indeed... at 120km/h in 6th my car is turning 4000 rpms!  An overdrive it is not.  A good 5 speed or a good 6 speed... I don't care -- just as long as I can shift it myself and it feels good doing so.

3,000 rpm = 150kph in my wagon  Grin

White with the gold wheels - now that's a combo. Fair enough Giant, white really isn't my color anyway.

I was thinking the Dark Grey - especially now that the 09 stock wheels come carbon.

And yeah, the 265 is looking like a great deal...I can just picture myself flying up North to go skiing in my 265 hatch....mmmmmmmmmmmmm

It looks like it will be a great car, question is, how did they get it so wrong in 2008..?

I think Toyota added some vanilla to the mix.
Hopefully when I'm done modding my car it will be as good or better then the new 265.
