« on: June 28, 2008, 02:09:14 am »
Hi my name is Amanda I am a new member I have a o4 f350 d truck. The other day when washing it I hosed out the engine and when I drove it minutes after the Truck seemed guttless!! There was also a hissing sound coming from the passenger side which I think is the turbo...I am no mechanic but could it be a seal in the turbo any help would be great!!!THXX

Hi! Welcome aboard! ;D

It could be a seal, or it could be a stuck waste gate. I dunno enough about those engines to hazard a guess. ???

I don't think that it could be seal.you have to check it out from the mechanic for this difficult problem.

It could also be some of the water that got onto the manifold area and was being burned off as well. If the Turbo is still working fine thats what I expect it is. I steamed cleaned my truck engine a few weeks ago and had some smoke and burning issues going on for a while until it completely burned off as well. I hope that is what it is for your sake as the Turbo's can be pricey to fix. If the problem keeps persisting definitely see your mechanic asap.  :)
