Autohaus VW in Barrie blew a few years ago when I used them.

Hard to trust dealers - no wonder the industry has a bad rap.

Too bad VDK, that's a terrible dealer experience (and so out of your way). Hope the gremlins don't reappear. Was the weather clear or wet?

VDK,

Sorry to hear about your experience.

Last weekend I had the 32k service performed on my car, and the dealer appeared to do everything asked of them and topped up all the relevant fluids and did the pollen filter change etc. Car still drives as smoothly as the first day I got it.

As far as I know, it is standard practice for dealerships to set the service interval counter reminder to 8k (rather than 16k), so as to ensure oil changes are done more frequently (as well as generate regular cash revenues for dealer). I ignore the reminders and you can reset the reminder yourself (search on vwvortex.com for procedure). Can't see the point of 8k oil intervals if you're driving on Castrol Syntec oil.

Dealership still doesn't wash cars post-service, but that is something I've got used to by now.

Don't let the dealership experience spoil your enjoyment of the Rabbit.

And thats a good thing. I hate sloppy arse car washes. When I got me Honda back from the last service. It had grease marks on the inside and on the outside was big sploches of water marks. I just thought I be lazy just once and let HD do it once. So it will always be a no from me, from now on and I'm not going back there either.  Smiley

I have to asked do u still love the V-Dub. Smiley

I've used the same VW dealer for the last 10 years.   No problems other than the time they took out my rubbers to wash and forgot to put them back in.   I mentioned it to the service advisor and they quickly found them and apologized.

Don't even think about it! No No

It's still a good car regardless, it's not great though. I think the 09s are a bit better still.

Good to hear that Strack! Smiley

Thought I'd update a lil' bit.

I'm now somewhere north of 26k, and I need 2 window regulators for both back windows.  Thinker Will head to the dealership soon, but I'll also ask them to fix the top tray on the center console just above the stereo -- it rattles every now and then and I hate it.

Other than that, a friend of mine and I went car shopping about 2 weeks ago and from all the cars we say, I'd still pick the bunny (or a GTI). Cheesy

I was looking through this old topic and decided to post some pics. Still crappy pics, but a bit better than the first ones. I promise next time I wash the car I'll bring my camera, it's embarrassing.

Funny how things change in 1 year. Just read some of quad's posts.

What about White cars? Yellow? Red? Brown? Grin

Looks great! It would look better if it was a GTI though... Wink

I know that location... I think...   on 7 west of West Beaver creek.   Convenient to eat ones Egg McMuffin while going through the car wash!

I used to park right in that exact spot to finish drying off the car after a wash.

That's the one. Self-serve for me though, it's summer so what the heck.  Grin

Huh? You mean they're best suited for girls? Not men?
