Test Drive: Currently the flagship Hyundai sedan, the Azera has a great engine, but its soft ride compromises handling, says Assistant Editor Jil McIntosh; even so, it'll win fans for its comfort level and luxury features, she says. More:Read the article | View the photos | All The Test Drives

Great article! This is an example of perfect car review, the article covers salient features of the car, talks about the target audience, safety, competition and highlights the differences of US Vs Canada pricing/warranty issues. I wish more and more Canadian auto journalists had the vision and courage of Jil McIntosh to write about what we consumers want!
Thanks again! Way to go Jil! |

Nothing against Hyundai, actually I like very much their Elantra and Santa Fe, the Azera on the other hand I cannot see what people see in this car. Looks are subjective yes and to me it's ugly from every angle inside and out, that yellowish wood trim makes me nauseous, gravol please. $40k is a lot of money for a car that bottoms out and handles poorly, how many to they sell? The Genesis is way way better effort at luxury than this and will probably kill it in no time |

I've seen 'more' (all things being equal) Azeras than Avalons on the road.
If Hyundai were targeting a full audience, it would't have killed them to have had two versions - the LuxoBarge Azera and Sportorific Azera. It did wonders for the Camry.
Maybe Hyundai should start looking at Lexusing itself....not sure if people are willing to pay that coin for the Azera much less the Genesis, regardless of how capable or competant they are.

I think Hyundai has it's eye firmly on doing the whole "Lexus/Infiniti/Acura thing". I wouldn't be surprised to see them create an upscale brand in the next year or two (depending on how the US economy recovers) . |

I bought a new 2007 Kia RIO EX and it had every airbag you could get on the car and it was struck by an other small car and flipped over twice and not one airbag deployed and this is a car that has being on the road only 6 months and Kia canada will not even talk to me!!!!!!!And there were also someone hurt bad in the car because of the airbags not peploying... A car that I owe over $20.000 on and its a right off and Iam going to loose around $8000 on it and will have no car and still will be paying for a VERY UNSAFE CAR .Please think about this before ever buying a VERY UNSAFE CAR LIKE A KIA.And my name is Kennie and if you have had any trouble with a KIA PLEASE LET ME AND EVERYONE KNOW.My e-mail address is kennie302@hotmail.com

So the airbags didn't deploy, you rolled it, and yet you're alive?
Not bad, in a way. |

If you only had the car for 6 months, I can't see how you would lose $8k with the OPCF43 clause (no depreciation) on your insurance policy!! Sorry don't mean to be insensitive to your accident, someone should lauch an investigation, I'm sure you have recourse. |

To get back OT I will say that the Azerra is a nice looking car and more true to its mission than the earlier XG 350. I have seen several Azerra on the road and they are a nice looking car (to me anyways). |

I was in Shanghai last week. Lots of Buicks on the road. Every GM product had a Buick badge. What i could not understand however were the Altima taillamps on a Buick Lacrosse.
Shanghai is a fascinating city BTW.. |
