Seeing as how Labour Day just passed, I'm thinking that my posting might be timely......

I bought a set of Continental ContiViking Contact 3's in March 2008 near the end of the season (VW Golf, P195/65R-15), to replace some well-aged Pirelli's.  My end-of-season experience with these was fine; I'm looking forward to seeing how they perform during a full winter.  At the time, I found a separate ContiViking website (contiviking.com),
but that site doesn't seem to be active any longer.  This site was completely separate to the Continental USA website.

The website listed various distributors local to certain areas, including Canada.  I found that both my local Nissan and VW dealerships were listed as authorized distributors.  The price was slightly higher than what I found on-line, but obviously included shipping (and was still respectable), so I had the Nissan dealership do a complete install (my workplace is adjacent to my their facilities).

At the time, the dealership indicated that they had to source them from a warehouse in Quebec, and they arrived in 2 days.

Just another option to consider.

Regards,
DJK

Further to my last post, I now see that Continental's Canadian website (for tires), provided you can find it, does list the ContiViking winter tires (models 3 & 2).  Unfortunately being a new forum poster, I can't seem to attach a website address to my post.

So anybody who carries Continentals should have them, or be able to get them.

BTW the Conti Viking Contact 3 is discontinued for this year. It has been replaced with the Conti Viking Contact 5.

Interesting about the Contact 5's.  The Continental website still lists models 3 and 2; don't see model 5 yet.  But the tread pattern in the posted picture looks identical to model 3; must be a different rubber formula.

Either way, given all the reviews of model 3, model 5 will surely be just as good.   As long as the tires provide what's intended -- winter driving confidence -- then it really can't go wrong.

Yeah but that's not suprising. The manufacturer's websites are always behind in updating.

Also, they are not identical, but close. Here are the 2 models
