Is it just me or does the exterior of that vehicle look a heck of a lot like they did in the 1980s? ???

I can't see why they would write that off as it looks very fixable to me and does have a really decent drivetrain in it to begin with. The Combination of the 4.3 engine and the 4spd od tranny will serve someone quite well for many years even after the repairs are done.  :)

Insurance cos "write off" a vehicle when the cost of repairs ($7500 in this case) equal or exceed the market value of the vehicle.

That is the case here. Not rocket science.  :P
