I guess I just don't understand how a bigger, heavier car with less interior room makes sense to anyone. Like I said, if driving dynamics are that important, a sports sedan like the G35 is by far a better choice than the EX35 by just about any measurement.

That is the thing....driving dynamics are not important to most car buyers. Fashion (over function) is what sell to them.

Most cars driving at 7/10ths are the same (to non enthusiasts) so people want sexy, cool, fun and lots of options.

If driving dynamics were important, wagons would be more popular than SUVs here.

A subwoofer should only be noticed once it has been turned off.

Thanks, Quad. I never have and never will buy a vehicle based on trendiness, which I guess explains why I don't understand the SUV/CUV/Crossover/Whatever craze. I don't think SUV's and large, heavy and inefficient toys like the EX35 have much of a future. I believe they are a wasteful and frivolous affectation of a failing society and I think history will remember them that way.

I think Infiniti could have sacrificed a couple of inches in front seat travel to create more rear seat space; I'm 5-foot-8, and with the driver's seat all the way back, I couldn't even reach the pedals!

I thank the manufacturers who spend the money to have longer seat travel (typically Euro cars). At least it gives tall people the choice to put the seat back and fit into them if no one's in the rear. It's a problem on so many models which immediately get striked off my shopping list, and is a concern because people aren't getting any smaller.

I don't know about that.  I think the secure, high-seating-position of a large truck or SUV offers a certain driving dynamic that appeals to a lot of people.  A sporty drive is not the only kind of driving dynamic people like.  :)

While shopping for my current car, I had the chance to sit in the M35 the G35 and the EX35 and compare the interiors as well as those in Acura RDX, MDX, Lexus RX 350 as well as many others (BMW, Mercedes, etc.).  I chose the EX35 over all other takers for a few particular reasons:
1. Great Value for money
2. Loads of available technology thats not available in any other vehicle
3. I spent 45 000 km a year in my car and want an interior thats very comfortable, luxurious and full of gadgets to keep me happy on long drives(beats all other comers in this price range)
4. Suitably swift and good handling characteristics in good or bad weather

While some other cars may have more power, better handling or more interior space, for me a single guy with no kids I don't care about the back seat.  I do however care I can get to the ski chalet next winter without getting stuck.  I care that I can take 4 friends and I to Montreal with their gear for a weekend trip very comfortably (at least for me).

I'm now in love with the gadgets.  However did I live without the around view monitor? The ipod hookup is so pleasing but now available throughout the Nissan lineup and others. Intelligent Cruise on long trips is priceless at eating up the road while keeping you at safe speeds.  The Premium Leather and wood package dresses up the interior to impress business associates who own cars at more than double the cost.

When buying a car there are always compromises to be made.  You can't have the most spacious interior of the fastest car at the cheapest price with the most technology which handles the best. I chose the car that's faster than 95% of whats on the road with comfort and convenience better than 98% sexy bodystyle and enough room for a ski trip to Tremblant.

I've thought about what a move up from this car would be for me and right now I dont' see anything thats as sexy and luxurious this side of a Maserati Gran Turismo.
