Topic: 04 Chev Cavalier Daytime Running Lights Out

This morning, the Service light came on in my 2004 Chev Cavalier.  I later discovered that the daytime running lights are no longer working.  However, if I turn on the headlight switch both headlights are working on high and low beams.  Therefore, assuming it was not the headlight bulbs I changed the DRL relay in the fuse panel but it didn't solve the problem.  Still no DRL.

Can anybody suggest the probable reason why my daytime running lights are not working?  Thanks.

It might be the daytime running light module.  Not sure where that is...likely under the hood somewhere.

Spudislander Welcome to the Forum and its probably because of age as to why that switch is gone bad on you but not neccessaraly as well. I would suggest getting a manual for this car and locating the switch which I would pull out and have tested. Not sure if these are under the hood or under the dash on this model.

The problem was a resistor located next to the headlight assembly.
