...can blow the doors off most new cars if I shift at 7,000 rpm...
Uh, okay. Are you sure the other cars are really trying? A good friend of mine had a 92 Civic with that driveline, and it was pretty slow. My 130hp Acura Integra walked away.

The paint quality was absolute crap.
My X Civic was terrible too and mark really easy. I had one rust spot too from a stone chip. Back top pillar of the car. I learn very quickly to be pro active against chips after that. apart from that I adore the car. Much better and quieter than my X focus. |

Hopefully, the Civic will not be the next victim to fall out of the Ugly tree like the rest of the Honda lineup...
What would you call the 2006+ Civic? Particularly the interior. That said, my first car was a 1999 Civic, and despite awful road noise, it was awesome. Light, agile, responsive (if not really "fast"). And while it always rattled like it was going to fall apart, it never did. |

One of the best designed dashes to come along in a while. Really brilliant idea it makes perfect sense. |

I've never given a HOOT about the interior of a car. If you like your vehicle's interior; great, but exterior/mechanicals/driving dynamic/function comprises 95% of the package. But yet 80% of the talk is about the speedo, the seat fabric, the centre stack , the radio controls, cheap interior parts ... What would you prefer?, great interior parts or great mechanicals? You don't get both ... for cheap. |

I loved the digital speedometer... I thought it was great. You're never looking down... you always have your eyes on the road. The rest of the dash was a bit of a weird mix but I really liked it a lot. And I think the 2006+ Civic has aged extremely well. It looked a bit funky when it came out originally... but now most other cars look in some way like it too.
I sense that the dash design tends to appeal to the younger demographics rather than the older ones but then again I can think of exceptions to that rule too. |

I like the fact that with the current gen Civic, Honda went back to the 90's low to the ground seats. Sitting in any other current car seems like sitting in an suv compared to the Civic.

Exactly what I don't like about the current Civic. The car looks great despite it's age, in fact I think the Civic's design is cleaner than pretty much anything else Honda makes right now. The low seating position put me off mostly because I'm not as young as I used to be and I found the dash awkward and busy-looking with too many cut lines going off in all directions and some pieces that seemed like afterthoughts. Otherwise, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this vehicle. I just hope Honda doesn't apply it's new design philosophy to the next gen - the pics look promising, but we'll see. |

The whole dash and short, sloping hood makes me feel like I am in a Minivan. No thanks.
Its a great car otherwise. |
