Blunder, how strong was that head wind?  I drive a stretch of highway everyday at 120 and the head winds would have to be 60-70km/h to see 20.  Your "cross wind" numbers are what I would expect to see in my Tundra under the same conditions.  Shoulda kept the '11 !!  :rofl2: ;D  :stick:

Tried the same little experiment on the way to work this AM (See, I'm a Bad Man too) from 80 up to 120 in 10kmh increments.

WOW! That just cured any desire I had for a pick-up. I see lots of people doing 130+ in these things around here. They must have had fat wallets.  ;D

I grin every time I hear a pickup owner complaining about the fuel efficiency.  It's only going to get worse, Gas in Ontario will probably hit $1.45 - $1.50, I am jacking up lawn cutting pricing this year!

$1.519 this morning in Vancouver and I still see pick ups zipping past me on the #1.  That's why I almost never drive the Expedition to work.

Me too, because I drive electric, and the higher the gas price, the sooner my break-even point arrives.

Will recharge it on the weekend to get the low off-peak rate.

Can you plug in at work?   One of my co workers has a Volt and the company lets him charge for free.   Every company likes to look green, all he had to do was ask.

I rarely drive more than 50KM a day.  The longest drive was to test out the battery range, and that was just over 100KM.  So I have only twice plugged my car in before the off-peak evening hours (when Ontario grid has too much nuclear to go around so might as well use it up off peak).

As for work, there are two plug-in cars in parking lot of 1000 cars...so there is not incentive or reason for my company (one of the largest in the world, 400K employees) to have plugs provided.  I've reviewed other locations of my company in the UK for example, and they do provide charging stations there, so I suppose if I were keen enough to ask, there might be a possibility.

Really, I don't need, and don't want anything special, I am perfectly happy plugging my car on my own dime and letting it recharge overnight.

It's beyond cheap to drive, something like 40 cents per day for my 30KM drive.  Plus, insurance is $30 per month cheaper than my old (10 years before I traded it in) Ford Taurus, so I'm way ahead.

Sorry I thought it was complaining.  Because you said you wanted the 2011 instead of the 2013. Because it gets better fuel economy?  So it sorta sounded like a complaint to me......

Isn't the EB rated in the 9's on the hwy?   If you can't get those numbers even at a steady 90 kph then it's false advertising.  I'd want a refund from Ford.

I'm currently driving a Genesis Coupe with the 3.8L V6 and a very, very loud exhaust. Driving it home from the office last night I averaged 11 L/100 km in pure city driving. The engine is very green (picked it up at 23 km).

On this morning's more "spirited" coffee run I drove the average over 14 L/100 km...  ;D

Drove the truck off the lot and headed out 3 hours over the highway the next day. At a steady 100km/h with head/side winds most of the way (this is Newfoundland) the trip compute showed 11.6 average return.

Yesterday drove to Milton to go cycling. Nice warm day, strong winds out of the west, sunroof open and bike on the back.

Going (headwind and good traffic) = 8.6L/100
Return (tailwind and bad traffic) = 7.6L/100

Wow, you actually beat the EPA highway rating, which is 12.3L/100km

Wish my cars had an instant fuel economy gauge, then maybe my wife would see the difference at the different speeds she drives.

Is your wife also afflicted with a giant lead weighted right foot?

When you say "also" do you mean "like me" or lead foot like "your wife"?

For the most part, I am 10km over the speed limit.  The odd time I push it bit, to prevent being cut off by a$$holes.  Can't do that with the kids in the car...

Wife loves doing 125km/h to SickKids, because she is running late for work, then 125km/h back because she wants to put the kids down...  ::)
